I do not recommend visiting at this time. The reservoir is highly overcrowded, which is causing a strain on locals who pay to maintain the lake. The lake is littered with trash and it is hard to find a parking spot. If you do decide to go, pack out ALL TRASH and maintain social distancing.

April 28, 2020. Hiking the 3 mile loop trail all around the reservoir is not recommended at this time. There is significant erosion and downed vegetation damage on the half mile of trail leading northeast from the right dam abutment. Very dangerous in places, especially for seniors and children. Also, with restrooms closed, be concerned about human waste near the boat ramp.

Great little lake to get away for peace and quiet. Walking the trails in the snow is awesome. Some days you are the only ones there. Dog friendly just be sure to pick up after your pet to be courteous of the wonderful nature surrounding you. Bring a bag to pack in and pack out any garbage. And your experience will be awesome. $5 fee in the summer months but free in the winter.

Once the summer crowds are gone, the lake is magnificent. Getting there is easy and no trouble for a car.

bring floating devices to float in the lake. The boat dock side is less crowded. Can talk a nice walk part way or all around the lake. Stay away from where boats are trying to put into the water and wear water shoes.
