This small zoo/sanctuary is an excellent place to visit. They include many animals from the California regions; my favorite being the mountain lions and black bears. It is small and well-paved for easy access and the animals are easy to see, when they are out. They do not force the animals to do anything that is not as normal or... More

Great small local zoo, but lots of wildlife saved from various places, including injured animals that they help and save. Support this wonderful zoo.

In response to Editeded's review that zoos are a dying breed and there are better ones in the bay area, it is important to remember that the complete title of this facility is Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary with an emphasis on the sanctuary. This sanctuary does not breed animals, it rescues them because they have been injured and cannot return... More

Fallen out of fashion these days. Zoo's are a dying breed and this is one that I would take a pass. If a Zoo in in you future, take the 90 mile drive to San Francisco Zoo and see the real thing.

Granddaughter loves to go there. Small and can do done in a few hours. They do have a lot of rescue wild animals that end up calling this home otherwise they would probably just die

Someone had suggested that we take a look at this hidden gem about 20 minutes from Sacramento, and we're thrilled we did. It is a small and eclectic little zoo, but there are plenty of animals to look at, and you can do it close up. There are some remarkable critters in here, mountain lions, bears, raccoons, and they were... More

It's a great place to go to and not have to worry about it talking the whole day. They do have some different animals there that the sacramento zoo doesn't have. There is also a nice little park for the kids to play at afterwards.

Was not overly impressed with this as a zoo...many of the animals you couldn't see because of their housing locations and many were probably sleeping during the day.

We loved the relaxed atmosphere of this zoo. You are truly there to see animals. Its not an amusement park, therefore you really get nice time spent with grandchildren talking about the animals and learning
