I don't see all the hype...

So I went into this place after reading a LOT of positive reviews about how amazing it is. I was disappointed.

Yes it has a LOT of play areas/swings for kids and it has a forest you can walk in but apart from that, it doesn't have much else. Also their were hardly any restaurants or food stalls opened which was annoying. Maybe it is because of the time of year i went (winter season) and maybe in the Summer it is a totally different place...

However, as of right now, I wasn't very impressed by the place and had a way better time visiting the 'Dhee Ayn' (Marble village which is about an hour away from here)

A review from my time in Al Bahah
Dec 2017 • Couples
I found this when looking for information on Raghadan as I catalogue photos from my time living and working In Saudi. I spent a year in Al Baha with Saudi Telecom while working on the Bell Canada International contract with the MoPTT.

Al Baha was my favourite location in the country (except for the scuba diving which we did all along the coast from Jizan, north to Tabuk - amazing!!!), but it seems to have been much different, and still almost untouched, when my wife and I were there. We went to Raghadan hiking many times. Then, there was only a sign saying what it was and we were totally alone and it was one of the few places one could find any sort of tree/brush cover. At the time, baboons were still common and it was possible to see Hyena and even saw leopards once!

Reading this makes me wonder if the other things we did are still possible. We used to take our land cruiser and drive x-country on our off days. The Biljurshie steps, the abandoned village on the escarpment at the outskirts of Al Baha as well as the one at the bottom of the camel trail were amazing places to visit. As well, there were ancient tombs and petroglyphs in the desert, on what I expect was once part of the silk road. In all amazing place and set of experiences. Some of my Al Bahah slides to show what we saw in the day......

New face for an old park
Jun 2018 • Family
Raghadan park is a natural wild forest that was developed by the municipality of Albaha region to be another park for the summer visitors from all over the gulf countries. I was amazed by the vastness of the park and the services placed to make your stay pleasurable. Grass was planted all over the park. Wild oaks. Weather was great. Children’s playground was well developed. Small shops and cafeterias were available. We enjoyed few hours there and most probably we will come back.

A great place to visit with the family

Don't think that you're all alone. The baboons would keep you company, more so if you have something to eat. Once in Raghadan you would be able to walk into the forest area as it is paved but steep. Once can view the long and winding roads in the mountains (the one leading to Dhee Ayn). The park is designed well with parking places next to each play area. lots of space for the whole family to enjoy.

nice place for picnic with family and friends. Good playing area for kids and enough variety of food trucks along with locals selling herbal tea.

Just OK

The best thing about Ragadan is its proximity to the city. This makes it very convenient to visit. Unfortunately, half the trees are dead due to climate change and it is rather over-developed. There are other places along the Hejaz escarpment that are a lot more beautiful than Ragadan. I am sure 30 years ago it was a lovely place....not any more.

A nice place to relax with the family
Dec 2016 • Business
There is a large variety of picnic spots and sun shelters available at the park. You can always find a place with some privacy where you can have a relaxing afternoon, watch the scenery, or be entertained by the frolicking baboons that are indigenous to the are. You can also easily find snacks and beverages in and around the park.
