We met our friends at 5 pm to tour the museum and gift stores and take pictures. Stores have excellent merchandise but are pricey. Grounds are well maintained and there is a place where the kids can pan for gold before dinner. A five member...More

Although it was over 100 degrees in fresno, the temps were comfortable up at this place. Lovely shaded picnic benches for a yummy dinner. The train ride was so fun. The Melodrama performance was a bit cheesy but fortunately it was only about a half...More

I reluctantly agreed to go on this historical railroad tour but was surprised at how interesting it turned out to be. A nice break after a couple hours hiking in Yosemite. Even non-railway fans will appreciate the history.

Informative and sweet little operation that proved a hit with 2 four year olds (and their parents) The secret hit though was the panning for gold. Run by a brilliantly engaging local woman who really opens up the local history.

This unique venue offers 1 hour steam train ride that is informative, peaceful and fun. The venue also has a small museum a couple of gift shops, panning for gold for kids and a commissary for grabbing a sandwich on your way into Yosemite

Great staff - friendly and engaging. Interesting historical commentary from the conductor. A mix of open and covered carriages. Take a covered one if you want to keep out of the sun!

We had the 1h tour on the logger train. I thought the trip was a bit short considering the price of the tickets, but it was excellent and well narrated. There was little else to do - the Jennycars follow the same route, the museum...More

The ride I have experienced for years is about an hour; with a short stop half-way for trackside restrooms and the taking-on of water for the steam engine. I have never ridden on anything but the Shay steam engine, nor... More
