We needed a one-night stop to break up the drive between SF and Bandon, Oregon. We chose Ferndale based on reviews and I am so glad we did! The drive west from 101 is so scenic and peaceful, then once you enter the town you are surrounded by beautifully maintained, colorful Victorian architecture. The Main St is beautiful, authentic and has a great variety of shops. The people in this town are very nice, and it seems like a close-knit community who takes pride in their town. We did not want to leave! I highly recommend a stay in this town if you are in the area (or make it a destination)!

Wonderful town of beautiful Victorian homes and gardens. So surreal. No fast foods (yea!) big box stores. Lovely town with interesting stores. Open restaurants had dining outside spaced properly for the virus. Absolutely quaint

Amazing town with a feeling it has been lost. We were there on a Sunday morning around 10 during the Covid19 pandemic, So I am not sure if it is like that always but no crowds and just locals out going for brunch. Amazing collection of buildings and it seems that the Meat Market is still a butchers founded in 1909.

If you are traveling the 101, this town is worth a stop. You can have a meal and walk historic main street. We also drove around the town, it is a cow farming community. And saw pretty old farm homes and barns.

Ferndale is chock full of beautiful Victorian style houses. You can drive the street taking photos of your favorite paint jobs. While walking on Main St. you can visit art and gift shops, and try some of the restaurants. It is great on a sunny day.
