About
Cotillion Gardens RV Park is a family-oriented and pet-friendly camp ground. It is nestled in the Santa Cruz Mountains, surrounded by Redwood Forest, run by a creek fed into San Lorenzo River. It is also conveniently back into the Henry Cowell State Park, is walking distance to the historical Roaring Camp Railroads, and 10mins drive to the Santa Cruz beach. The camp ground offers partial and full hook-up RV sites, tent sites, cabins, along with a swimming pool and a club house for special events, such as family reunion, wedding reception, and group retreat. Year after year, campers come from all over the country for a scenic and tranquil mountain atmosphere, enjoying a real campfire quietly and peacefully under 300ft redwood trees with friends and family. Other great getaway activities include surfing, whale watching, fishing, hiking, biking, wine tasting, and many more.

    A nice campground
We stayed in a cabin. It was very clean. Guests need to bring their own linens, utensils, etc. It does have a kitchen sink, small refrigerator, coffee pot and microwave. There is a table with two chairs. The living area has a couch and fireplace (Duraflame logs only). The bathroom has a sink, shower and toilet. There is a porch, picnic table and firepit outside. The bedroom has a full size bed and a good size closet, with several large drawers. There is a loft, probably best for young children. It has a weight limit of 150 pounds. It has a ladder that has to be pulled down. We didn't look up there. We were in a river cabins. Not all cabins are the same. Some don't have a full size bed, only bunk beds. Some might not have a bathroom in the cabin. If you plan to stay in a cabin, it would be wise to check. The campground has level sites, and not as close or small as others have posted. I have had a motorhome in campgrounds that had MUCH tighter sites. The campground is next to Henry Cowell state park, and there are several trees in the campground. There are hiking trails accessible from the campground. The roads in the campground do go up some hills, so it can be a bit strenous walking there. All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful.

FUN TIMES - Nestled in the Trees!
A nice hidden gem of an RV park and campground only minutes from Santa Cruz amidst the giant redwood trees. We stayed five days at Cotillion Gardens and will definitely be back. There's so much to do...or just sit around and relax. Your choice. Our travel trailer was nestled in between giant trees that encompassed our campsite. The views in this campground are amazing, and there are so many cool trails to explore. We took our long time friends and we both brought all of our boys to explore the area. The town of Felton is close by and you can use the campground as a hub to go exploring in several directions. The campground is well maintained, the staff are very friendly and this location is MUCH nicer than the other alternatives nearby. Wi-Fi is available but not practical because of the heavy tree cover. If you need it bring a hotspot or satellite. The bathrooms need updating and are kind of primitive, but definitely clean and maintained. Dog park is great, and the activity center was a bonus for boys that like to play. Playground was small but very cool. We'll be back!

Really nice campground with friendly staff. We were supposed to stay 3 nights, ended it up staying 10 & got 1 free night. We like the fact that this park is in the middle of the redwoods & during the week it’s really quiet & relaxing. At first we stayed in spot 46 & the only thing I would change is the tent site right behind it. Scott Valley is just a 5min drive & it has everything you need. It’s also a quick drive to the Redwoods state park which offer a couple of trails. Probably one of the best RV park we’ve done!

A few friends and family camped this weekend and we’re racially profiled by another camper. They were so rude to my kids and husband (who are not white). Then they complained and told the owner we were cussing (when we were in our own campground) talking to each other. That’s not illegal and we weren’t doing anything wrong! Then they complained were being loud after 10pm and we weren’t even there. All around the owner wouldn’t hear that we weren’t the problem. After the other campers heard the racist camper being rude to us they all said they were sorry to us. The owner was okay with us just not coming back instead of making sure we felt safe. The guy was even filming my kids and us to record us cussing. That’s when I asked complained and nobody asked him to leave. I felt like I needed to report this because of their lack of effort to defuse or make the situation safe for my kids. Check out the place next door or dry camp.

The park is nice but the spaces are right on top of each other! Plus, they put a tent site right next to our RV site and that just doesn't work. Don't go here if you value privacy. I'm give one extra star for the guy in the golfcart who helped us get our motorhome unstuck from the little bridge. It is way too tight for a large motorhome and we should have been placed somewhere else.

This place was once such a treasure. Then new owners. The once fun family pool is no longer user friendly temperature but freezing!!!! The new owners rarely show up but instead hire rude staff... overpriced... A huge disappointment from the once lovely family vacation spot

This camp ground is very nice and clean with lots of features for the children. However the management and staff are horrible, unprofessional and lack people skills. We simply complained about the power going off at our RV hookup and were told they had just worked on it and would fix it. Well it happened again and WOW, from that point on we were yelled at and told because we were a problem they would kick us out. When we gave our opinion that they had horrible customer service and people skills and would not be coming back they forced us to leave immediately. This was totally unacceptable and even though we had small children and a long drive ahead of us at 4 pm, we left to avoid further ridicule and harassment. DO NOT go to this park. There are several other camp grounds just as nice with Professional and courteous staff.

We were part of the large group that was so rudely asked to leave. My family and friends have been going there for years and have not had any problems until this. It was one of our favorite spots. But, this time they were so rude to my wife when she was at the desk paying for the site. Then the co manager wanted to measure my trailer after I was almost completely set up. She basically told my wife that she was lying about the length. This is the same trailer I have brought for years, I don't have a problem with measuring trailers just don't wait until I have paid and am fully unloaded, Also don't be rude and call us liars. We did measure the trailer when she came and it was half foot shorter than we had told her and that she claimed we were lying about. We were a group of 6 families with children and camping for three days each. My son was crying when we left and I will never set foot in that camp ground again, I will be going next door. We were shorted one day and not even one mention of a refund for the day we lost. The customer service was horrific!!!

We have camped here a half dozen times but have been put off by the new managers who make customers feel as if it's a privilege to camp there. They were pretty rude to us the last time we were there - very rude and impatient. Not customer service oriented at all.

This RV park has a very scenic setting. The state park is right behind this RV park and that's where the positives end. The staff upon check in said you had to pay with cash or check to get the Good Sam discount. They were rude and unprofessional. There are the smallest, most confined campsites we have ever seen. The sites were so confined that I had to wait to dump my septic tank until after my neighbor finished his breakfast no more than 6 feet away. Most of the people we spoke to while we were there had the same complaint of feeling like sardines. We will never stay at this RV park again.

We have been camping here with our children and friends for many years. Normal stays include 3 families with 2-7 children, for 10 days. This stay was our worst ever. The pool was green the first 3 days we stayed. It's new Nickname was Emerald Bay. Bathrooms were in need of a good cleaning, not just fresh toilet paper each morning. The new management/owners were quick to jump on small infractions of their rules but allowed more confrontational campers to do anything including staying 3 hours past checkout and letting their chow dog run loose all over camp. Including barking at kids riding bikes and swimming in the pool.
Other campers were allowed to bathe dogs in the shower within sight of the main office.
One of the workers actually threatened my 11 year old daughter with "confiscating her dog for 6 months," the dog was on a leash at the time and her friend was playing with a frisbee. Seems a rational person would have had a discussion with a parent and not scare a little girl and her friends. The Good Sam Discount and AAA discount is only given if you pay cash or check. We love the access to the woods and trails offered here but the management ruined our trip.

I felt compelled to write this after reading N8urlvers remarks about this RV park. We have been going to this park for years and have never had any problems of the sort he/she is describing. Yes of course you will see the occasional raccoon or skunk scurrying about...but let's pause and think for a moment - you are in the woods, trees and vegetation everywhere. And, not to forget, we are in their domain. If you cannot handle wildlife you might want to stay in a nice hotel...just saying. As far as the bathrooms are concerned, I know and have seen them getting cleaned as well as restocked at least twice a day. The bathrooms at this park are certainly cleaner than any other RV park we have stayed in and we have stayed at a good number both in this state and many others. The staff goes more than out of their way to provide a clean and pleasant environment. Rude people??? What rude people? If you re referring to the staff than you must have been at some other park and just confusing the dates. We have always had the best experience with the staff and other people at the park. Staff was always very forthcoming, polite and helpful. I guess for some people nothing is good enough.

Just finished a 2 night stay here. The resort is in the middle of big beautiful trees. That part is really lovely. It’s also located really convenient to Santa Cruz, Capitola and lots of other fun stuff to do.

Unfortunately they are splitting 30 amp sites between two rigs so we spent the first few hours of our trip resetting breakers, contacting the camp host etc trying to get the power to work in our sites. The camp host was very helpful and worked hard to find a solution but beware if you need to use your AC... and the guy next to you needs to use his... you might be out of luck.

Our sites were big and spacious, but many of the sites in this resort are very, very close together so beware. The person working the check in was EXTREMELY slow and took foreverrrrr to do anything (and was kind of rude), so we spent way more time than we would have liked getting a car pass, checking in, buying wood, etc.

Park, pool and clubhouse were nice and fun for the family.

All in all it was a nice place in a good location but I’d probably stay somewhere else next time for fear of the power issues happening again.
