Got here early at 8am to get a kayak, (they only have 4) reasonably priced at $15.00 for 2 hrs. Serene, quiet couples time. We are elderly so getting in and out was difficult especially with bad knees so I would recommend a row boat, the seats are higher and the same price. A beautiful walking path around the shoreline, dogs are ok on a leash but can’t enter the water or boats. We will be back!

This is a hidden gem in the Santa Cruz mountains. Access to the area involves driving through narrow and windy one-lane streets in a residential area. The lake which is the centerpiece of the place is charming and peaceful. The trail along the lake is fully shaded and provides an easy hike to enjoy the scenery. Parking was plentiful on a weekday. (I did try to visit the place a few months earlier on a weekend during the pandemic and I was turned away because the parking was full.)

Some locals don't think of visiting here often, but it is a gorgeous place. We brought out of town guests here, and while the drive up is a bit convoluted, it is not bad at all. On a weekday morning the place was nearly empty, with our choice of boats, and a friendly staff. The shoreline and lookout hikes are great, but wear shoes with treads for the steep path up.

This place is a carefully hidden gem up in the San Lorenzo mountains. It has a really nice lake/reservoir, which allows no gas motors or swimming, but a small boat dock and ramp is available, and the marina/store offers small boat and fishing tackle for rent. The lake (Loch Lomond) is usually cool, green and quiet, when there's enough water to open it. It's also stocked with fish, and has picnic tables, Barbecue grills/pits, running water, restrooms.

Loch Lomond is great for family outings, large and small functions and picnics, the scenery is gorgeous, the lake has plenty of water, thanks to all the rain we received last winter. The park is open March 1st-Labor Day from 7:00 AM until dusk 7:00 PM, after Labor Day Lock Lomond is open on the weekends until October. Fishing is allowed, from the shore or you can rent a motor boat, you must have a license to fish, you can buy a fishing license at the Loch Lomond little store, the store also sells tackle, bait, drinks and snacks. Loch Lomond also rents out paddle boats, and canoe's, warning there is a limited number of boats for rent, come early. Loch Lomond has quite a few tables and barbeques through out the park for private use, larger parties can rent a larger area with tables and a large barbeque pit the park also sells liquor permit's for your gathering.
It cost $8.00 per car to enter the park, $80.00 for a season pass, fair warning the parking by the lake fills up quick, there are other parking areas further away from the lake with tables and barbeques, and a restroom at each parking area.
The park is clean, and has plenty of benches to sit on and relax, nice hiking trails if you like to hike, plan to go early in the morning that way you will find less people, plenty of parking and you will assure yourself a picnic table or a fishing boat to rent.

This is by far a piece of S.C. heaven hidden off the hills. I don’t like to share this place. But I guess the fish is in the river so to speak. So when driving along lompico Rd. And come to West Dr. It’s a adventure to the lake through a mountainous neighborhood. There is lots to offer from fishing to picnicking and a big helping of serenity. There are Boat rentals. And plenty of bank fishing. The marina harbor parking feels up fast. But there is plenty of parking along the way with great hiking to the lake. I have fished this lake for a long time. I am rarely disappointed. As they say a bad day fishing is better than a good day working. Peace and serenity would be what you get at the hidden gem at the end of the road. There are entry fees and is closed part of the year so I would check before you go. The road can be narrow at some turns and there are also blind turns. Drive slow and prepare to stop or pull to the side for on coming vehicles. So take your smile with you and enjoy your time.

This was my first trip ever to the Santa Cruz mountains. It was beautiful, green and quiet. I was looking for hiking trails where I could bring my dog, and she was welcome to be here on a leash. The trails looked freshly maintained except for some muddy areas due to the rain the prior week. Every trail was well marked and easy to follow. I ended up hiking the 4 mile loop which followed the lakeshore for a mile before the turn uphill. I did have to be vigilant about pulling ticks off my dog. The staff rangers were friendly and helpful. I would certainly come back and would recommend they build a couple more trails in the 4-5 mile range.

Great place for hiking. It has 3 different length trail, from less than a mile and up to 4 miles. There is an option to rent different boats as well. Great place to spend family quality time.
