It is a huge attraction near the waterfront of Eureka, CA; also, a target for photographers, artists and admirers of "gingerbread" Victorian homes.

The Carson Mansion houses The Ingomar Club, a private club named after William Carson's favorite play "Ingomar The Barbarian" It's not open to the public for tours, but hosts many charitable events. If you're invited to the event you may get a chance to see the interior, which has been faithfully restored to 1890's opulence.

We would have welcomed the opportunity to visit the Carson Mansion. Because it is now a private club, it can only be viewed from outside the fenced area.

A spectacular building, manicured gardens, clean area! So impressed with this building and even though there is no admittance to view the inside (can be done on-line), it is worth viewing in person.

The historic home of Lumber Baron, William Carson. It is now a private club so you need to know a member for a private tour with no cameras allowed inside, but it costs nothing to drive by and look and photo from the outside. Built from exotic woods from all over the world, back when Eureka was a booming lumber... More
