There's no easy way up to the monument, and that's good, because this is such a sad story that you should have to work a little to appreciate it.
After a drive up to the Monastery at the base of the cliff, you have around a 90 meter climb up a pathway with steps laid out for you.
At the top the view is stunning, but that's not why you make this visit.
They died free and undefiled.

Very nice view. We really loved it. Just keep in mind that you need to wear athletic clothing because the monument is on the top of the mountain. There are around 300 stairs.

Amazing place with breathtaking scenery and interesting history. Try locating the hidden path that will lead you to a picturesque church within the forest.

Even if you cannot climb up to this monument just to see it from the road and know its history is quite moving. The women and children threw themselves off the cliff to avoid capture, all the while singing and dancing.

We decided to do a little sight seeing while in Preveza Greece.. this monument is stunning and has such a story! There are quite a few stairs to the top but the view from up there is breathtaking.

Decided to see what this monument was all about. From the drive there up through the mountains, past Kamerina, through the mountain forests, past herds of goats, parking at the monastry to the breathtaking walk up the 400 plus steps the whole trip was amazing. Don’t worry about the climb, the steps are well constructed and you can take your time with lots of views and angles for great pics on the way up. The monument is magnificent and definitely worth the trek.

Saw this for the first time when we were driving to Cassiope - it looked as though it was the other side of a deep valley...however, when we got to the monastery at the bottom (which was closed up when we got there - at about 15.30) you look up and wonder how to get there...then you start walking and the steps get steeper and steeper! Do NOT start walking in the heat of the day unless you have some water - we always take a small bottle of frozen water to stop you glugging it all down at once - the 400+ steps to the top are well worth it when you get there - the views are magnificent and the monument itself is quite breathtaking (as is the climb!!)

To walk where the women who jumped with their children to their deaths is incredible special. But so sad why they felt it so necessary, getting away from the Turks who would have either raped them, torture them, or kill them. Making this worse, is that a Greek showed the Turks how to find the women. The positive of the site is the glorious church and small small run by the lovely Nuns.

This place really is a must-see, both for the history behind the monument, as well as the staggering view from the top.
The stair climb is not for the faint hearted or the very unfit. But you can always stop and rest on the way. About 440 steps.
Nearby is the ancient settlement of Cassope, but as at this date, it appears to be no longer open to the public.
