James and Carol opened their studio for us on New Year's Day. This the Wilcox family's annual get together trip and there were 8 of us. Their crew was terrific and especially to come in on New Years Day. We had a marvelous time.
The glass blowing was very hands on and James stressed safety first. We received our glass today and it is beautiful and not perfect either because we made it.
Highly recommend Stone and Glass to anyone who wants to try glass blowing and having a great time.

We were going to be down in the area for the holidays, As I was planning our trip and looking what to do in the area . As we were going to get off a a cruise in the LA on the 23rd. I was looking some of the excursion program offered by our travel agent. I noticed a glass blowing . For over thirty years I been wanting a chance like this . I ended up calling Carol a wonderful person with Stone and Glass and booked a lesson for Dec 29.
I had a wonderful time with James. For years I wanted to learn about glassblowing and dealing with glass. James is wonderful instructor that made me feel very comfortable . I wish I could spend more time there. I suggest that that anyone is going be near their location. To book a lesson. If I could stay long . I be there taking more lessons.

Loved Stone and Glass. Bought two beautiful pieces. James invited us back to watch them making some very unique items and explained what he and his assistants were doing. Would have loved to take a class with him but was only in e area for a short time. Maybe next visit!

I had company in from Canada and I was looking for something different for the artistic people in the family. I found this place through Yelp. We wanted to take a private class and the owner and his wife were very accommodating with the schedule. The classes are normally 1.5 - 2 hours. Given there were three of us and we wanted to make something more complicated, we extended it to 4 hours. I was a bit nervous because it looks dangerous but the take safety extremely serious and they never put you in harms way. It is HANDS ON, which is the best part. James does a fantastic job of explaining everything and gets you excited about all of the possibilities with shapes, colors, etc. He is an excellent teacher and you can tell he enjoys it. My company loved it so much that we are going back again today for a torch class which is working with smaller objects. A must do!

We went to the Stone and glass studio as part of a group.
To learn the art of how to blow glass.
This class was taught by the owner, artist James . But the really fun part was the life story that artiest James interwove, during his instructions.
This is a very hands on class, teaching you the whole process of creating glass art from start to finish.
You really don't know how hot the kiln is until the door of the kiln is opened and the molten glass is brought out on a metal rod to begin the process of creating art. We will definitely be back not only for the instruction on how to create glass art but the fun and excitement that james infused into this experience.

I had such an awesome time at Stone & Glass that when my friends announced their wedding plans, I got them a gift pass to James' studio. The Stone & Glass crew helped me fashion a gorgeous ocean-themed drinking glass that my kids still compete to get their hands on at dinnertime. :-)
If you are heat sensitive, I recommend going during cool weather because the furnace is incredibly hot (but also super cool and mesmerizing). Oh, and take extra drinking water.

I would like to know about your entrance fee, how you make an appointment to visit, how many people can attend at one time and the time frame. I heard you and the Jewish Men's Chorus tonight at Temple Emanu-El. Your wife told me about your place. Bonnie Baron
