Nestled amidst the majestic foothills of Temecula's wineries and the world-famous Safari Park, Castle Creek Country Club is located in San Diego's North County, just 35 minutes north of downtown San Diego. Founded in 1948, Castle Creek Country Club is steeped in tradition. Originally opened as the Circle R Country Club, the club is home of the scenic Castle Creek Golf Course, a PGA approved, 18-hole championship golf course that offers a 5-star Southern California golf course experience at an affordable rate. The par 72 golf course was designed by Jack Daray, whose credits include Olympia Fields CC (home of the 2003 U.S. Open), and challenges golfers with oak-lined fairways, white sand bunkers, undulating greens and intermittent play over Moosa Creek, adding character and challenge to every hole. The temperate climate and sunny skies make this course a year-round golfers paradise. We offer men's, women's, and junior sets of tees and recently added a new set of championship tees to create a 6,638 yard course with a 72.00 rating and a 134 slope. Castle Creek Country Club is a great place to have fun with family and friends. The Gopher Hole sports bar offers numerous TVs throughout, 20 craft and standard beers on tap and entertainment on the weekends. In addition, The Gopher Hole offers scenic views of the golf course and rolling foothills from any seat in the house. Castle Creek Country Club is a great place for meetings, banquets, romantic weddings and other special events. All of our facilities have scenic views of the golf course and rolling foothills. At Castle Creek Country Club, we understand that our success depends on the satisfaction of our valued members and visitors, so we are committed to providing the greatest experience for you and your guests. We hope to see you soon!

I like this course. Tee boxes are in okay shape. Greens are in great shape. Because of wind and probably lack of water, winter rules should be agreed upon ahead of time to allow a bump as plenty of on course holes. Plenty of well-placed hazards but what makes this course challenging are some very narrow fairways on certain holes... More

Wanting a change from Welk's Fountains Course and a longer course we checked out Castle Creek. We arrived 7:30 AM without a tee time, but had found good rates on GolfNow. We were warmly greeted and given competitive rates and an immediate tee time. We played from the Blue Tees which provides 6,300 yards. The first tee box was very... More

Castle creek is affordable. Greens are in good shape and the course is always challenging, especially 10,11, and12 which we've nicknamed amen corner. The Gopher hole, the 19th hole, is great after your round ~ good food and good brews on tap. Rex, Ruthie, the starter (on Fridays forgot his name) all have great personalities and keep c.c. rollin. Thanks... More

They have really fell backwards. The golf course is dry and not well kept anymore. The little stand where you got hot dogs is not the same. The girl slow and out of things. They used to have this older lady in there and she knew how to impress you with kindness and her service. Don't eat in the restaurant... More

The San Diego area is not the easiest place to find inexpensive golf. Castle Creek does offer tee times in the $30 range. But, in comparison, you would probably be better off spending a bit more cash. The greens were in good shape. Golfers were forced to play from one tee box for each hole due to reseeding. The fairways... More

Attended a wedding on Saturday. The patio set-up was great. The bar tender's Chris and Penny were very nice and kidded around with all of us making it feel even more comfortable. Wedding was beautiful, band was great. Staff was very friendly, and Leann was great hostess for both the food and drinks. Great job all of you.. My friends... More

This is a very challenging course in a rural part of Escondido, CA. There are some serious carries across creeks and brush. There are some daunting uphill holes. And finally there are narrow fairways! It is a friendly place. One drawback if the lack of a driving range.

We have visited the Escondido area the past two spring breaks and golfed everywhere around Castle Creek, and finally on our last outing took the plunge - what a nice surprise. We teed off around 8:00 so things were still bit dewy and the greens a tad slow, but things dried up quickly and the green speed increased accordingly. While... More

Enjoyed a round of 18 here on 11/14/2013. Course was in good shape, not manicured, but quite playable. Pace was good as we played as a couple with three foursomes in front of us. It never felt slow and we finished in 4.5 hours. Hole descriptions on their web site would have you belive this was a monster course, but... More
