Like many town, as malls and bigbox stores have grown, people have lost sight of the great downtown shops, restaurants and events that go on. Grand is a perfect example of this, there are many great shops and great restaurants along Grand and in the summer the activity increases with "Cruisin' Grand" where you can see great classic cars that... Grand Ave has really started to shine. There is weekly farmers market, fine restaurants, Drapers and Damons (my personal favorite place to shop), and many small shops. During the summer the old cars come out and line the street on the weekend. Right off Grand Ave is the theater.

Always go to Crusin on Grand, went for the last night in September called Nitro Night. I have also been to the street fair and it has great vendors, fun people and relaxed atmosphere

It has a '50s vibe, but primarily just because the buildings seem to fit that era. There really isn't a great flow or feeling from one store front to the other. A few restaurants, a few coffee shops, and not much else. Ice cream on one of the side streets was good, though! Anyway, hard to see this as a... More

Grand Ave is changing for the better and is now quite popular for its bakery/deli, wine cafe, and car show on Friday afternoons in the summer. There are still some junk shops, but there's also a couple of art galleries, an outdoor equipment/clothing store, a beauty salon (a nice one), and a guitar shop (with lessons). Plus farmer's markets weekly,

The walk along Grand during the Friday car shows and festivities is really fun and nice. So many restaurants and goodies to enjoy. See people you know and more that you don't but will. Very friendly and enjoyable. Even for kids and pets!

Be sure to stop in Escondido to explore Grand Avenue. There are some really good little restaurants to discover, a wonderful antique mall, unique shops, homemade gelato, and Friday nights between April and October the classic automoblies and trucks are out on display! Street fair atmosphere -- live music and lots of fun.

Spring and summer has clearly arrived in Escondido when the Friday night "Crus'in Grand" is in full speed. Great vintage and muscle car viewing, along with a variety of restaurants, breweries, and shops open. Small town feel. Great for summer evening walk and people watching. Usually has a live band playing and some activity for children. Family friendly outing.

Grand Ave. is the downtown street of Escondido...with lots of restaurants, coffee shops, micro-breweries and other shops. Visit on a Friday night from May-October and be a part of Crusin' Grand - a huge weekly car show with live music and extra food vendors.
