It is still fantastic to watch the 4th of July fireworks from Grape Day Park... It is like a flashback from my childhood 60 years ago. I love the sense of community and fun. Escondido does a great job at this event for all the community and I recommend it. Thanks to the local police and officials, parking and access... More

This Central Park-like spot in the heart of downtown Escondido has become a campground for homeless people . Most don't bother you however, be alert. The park has a small playground, historical buildings, old train car, an orange grove and is surrounded by City Hall and the Arts Center.

Located in central Escondido next to the beautiful city hall the park has lots of history to explore with old buildings, draw back is lots of homeless and seen many drug dealers hanging out at the bathrooms next to what use to be the kids playground.

In the park is the Escondido History Center which has a train station, train car, historic houses, old barn and blacksmith shop. The office is full of local history materials. The restored houses and station are open to the public with free admission. We were lucky to visit on a Saturday when the blacksmith shop was open and working. They... More

Our Grape Day Park has many treasures; Train Car and Depot, Victorian house tour, Blacksmith shop, our very first little library from 1888, serves as the office for the History Center, always something to learn our Hidden Valley.

This is a decent sized park right in the center of Escondido, there is usually a decent amount of parking here. There is also a good amount of seating but you will want to get there decently early on a weekend to get any of it. The layout of the park is nice, there is also a Public Pool on... More

Historical park in the middle of Escondido. Many of the historical buildings are open for tours, and the railroad car has a model train layout for the kids. There is also a playground which is under repair currently.

Grape Day Park is a great place to lounge around the grass, watch the kids play on the children's equipment and have a picnic.

It would be a very nice and fun filled park for your kids except for the multiple homeless people who have decided to make this park their "home." I do not feel safe with my children when I am near or at the park.

If you have young kids, the will love to climb on those man made grape vines. Quite different from your usual playground.
