Really cool atmosphere in the brewery. Close to 20 beers on tap between Lost Abby and Port City. The Framboise sour was one of the best I have had, and the Old Viscosity was great.

If you are on a brewery tour this is a must stop. The beer is excellent and has a great atmosphere. They server many stiles of beer but their specialty is barrel aged beer. I had the forty dollar taster of their rare beers which is a must. My favorite was an ale aged is a tequila barrel. Wonderful!!!

Located in an industrial park, you don't expect much atmosphere from a brewery tasting room. Yet, Lost Abbey has a delightful grungy vibe about it. Somewhat dimly lit, with barrels of aging brews lining the walls and artwork of their theme, you get the feeling this is where great beer is happening. In the same space where Stone started, it... Nothing crazy or funky here to look at. Tap room thrown into a brewery. Restroom is thrown together. Beers are solid all around, price is affordable and not over the top. Friendly staff for the most part, they seemed to enjoy their gigs. Self server water seems to be a San Diego norm.

Finally made it to Lost Abbey. I had heard about it for years and only lived a short distance away. But never ran across it. Had a few beers in town so thought I would search it out. Well worth the effort. Very good beer in a garage still atmosphere. Met some cool people also visiting from out of town.... More

I'm not a big beer fan but am traveling with those who are, so I am always pleased to find a brew pub or micro brewery that has choices for the non-I.P.A. fans. They had a lot of different varieties and the prices were reasonable. At first I was put off by the lack of a free taste before committing... More

We were recommended to visit here by the folks at Rip Current. Hats off to them for trying to further our craft brew experience! However upon entry we encountered a bouncer who promptly informed us we could not be in the area were in. We then found a bartender who was rude, telling us we could not get tasting size... More

I spent 4 days in SD visiting as bunch of Breweries as I could. If you make the trip to Escondido to visit Stone Brewing and World Bistro, this place is a MUST VISIT!!!! Considering it's only about 3 miles away, why not!!!! Here's a tip....They offer samplers for $1-2 each, or but a 10oz take home glass for $5... More

I happen to be a fan of The Lost Abbey brews. The staff here is friendly, there is music playing, games to play scattered about and on the day we visited there was food service out front. If you love craft beer then a stop here is a must. The lack of seating (meaning no chairs to be found) and... More

Stopped by Lost Abbey/Port Brewery in mid January in San Marcos (not Escondido, as the above address indicates). It's located in a business park on the north side of highway 78 (not far from Escondido). The tasting room is located in the front of the same space that houses the actual brewery. The beertenders were very knowledgeable about the Lost... More
