Place was just neat. People are nice. Very calm. I had a great time about an hour and a half. Favorite part was Steve! The teeny tiny turtle.

Great experience!

It's my first time touching reptiles and omg the snakes are so gorgeous! They have some rare species that would be hard to interact with in other places. And the staffs are really knowledgable and experienced! They told us a lot of stories and special habits of each animal. I would highly recommend anyone passing by Escondido to take a look!

Took our Grandson

The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable about every animal and insect on display. Our Grandson loves to visit - we manage to take him about once/month. We are members so after the initial fee, we go as often as we can. A great place to visit for animal lovers.

We have been several times and absolutely love the Ecovivarium! The museum itself is small but has tons of animals most of which can be held. Animals rotate often so each visit you can see many different ones. The staff is super knowledgeable and were able to answer all our questions. If you love animal encounters you need to visit the Ecovivarium!

Awesome place to take your kids!!!
Jan 2020 • Family
EcoVivarium is the perfect place to take your kids if they like Reptiles. They have several different types of Reptiles and the staff spends their time showing you the animals, telling you about them, answering questions and letting you interact with them. You can really tell everyone there has a real passion for caring for these beautiful creatures.

This place is a real gem in the heart of Escondido, CA that you need to visit at least once, but should probably go a few times a year.

Amazingly Fun and Educational!!
Feb 2020 • Family
EcoVivarium is my favorite place to visit in Escondido! The ticket includes a tour around the building where you learn about the stories of the reptiles on display (with new ones on display every day, almost all of them being rescues or special needs) complete with a hands-on experience and education about how the reptiles (and various insects) shown at the facility. During my last visit I interacted with tortoises, turtles, small and large lizards, and snakes. I see this place as a perfect educational opportunity for children and adults alike.

A MUST while in the area.

I wanted to do something different for my birthday. I love reptiles, so when The Ecovivarium popped up in a search, I knew I had to go.

We had an amazing time. We got to hold snakes and learned about different reptiles.

The Ecovivarium is great for everyone of all ages. They are a great learning tool. I will be back again this year for my birthday. I wish I lived closer because I'd visit all the time!

Best $10 I’ve ever spent!
Feb 2019 • Family
This interactive museum absolutely made me fall in love with reptiles! We came here with my 1-year old son and his older cousin. We had the opportunity to hold and learn about hissing cockroaches, lizards, monitors, turtles and snakes. Most of the animals were either rescued from abuse or neglect, or donated by owners who had underestimated the amount of care these animals required or were unable to provide the care due to circumstances beyond their control. It was a great opportunity for us to model gentle handling and care of animals to our kids. I was worried that maybe my 1-year old would be too little for this place, but our guide said they appreciated seeing young children being introduced to this at an early age. We had a blast and absolutely plan to come again!

Hold Snakes & Reptiles
Dec 2018 • Family
Me and my daughters got to hold 10 different kinds of reptiles. The tour guide knew everything about these ambassador animals that are often used for education purposes. What an amazing place to take your young children to really learn and really touch real animals.
