My 3 1/2 year old granddaughter enjoyed playing with everything. She was a Dr., a ship captain, a cashier…. After 2 hours she cried because she didn’t want to leave. All night long she told her parents about it and kept saying it was “amazing!” and wanted to go every day!

Easy to visit , great play area, climbing treehouse area, crafts area, bubble, legos, little garden and old fashioned schoolhouse. A childs make believe morning. Lots of fun things to stay busy with...you can even bring your lunch. Not to crowded during the week Many fun activities to keep little folks busy.

This place is not a large as other museums, but it's great for kids 6 and under. There are many different stations in here for little ones to enjoy. There's also an outdoor play area. Many places for parents to sit and participate at yr same time. Stroller friendly, and for $6 a person you can't beat it.

I have to agree with the previous reviewer. We drove down from Temecula and it was not worth the drive.
It is essentially NOT a museum but a large playroom that is filled to maximum capacity with an outdoor area.
It has lots of potential but the restrooms were disgusting, the toys dirty and certain areas like the shop either don’t have enough toys or are not “restocked”/reset enough making them useless.
The little shop in the front is poor in regards to educational toys and variety.
The sad thing is there is lots of potential in the lovely garden area where flowers and fruits and veg have been planted.
We won’t be back.

It is not a museum ...
It is very small .. Has no special games or activities at all.. If I knew it was that bad, I would have gone to a park instead ...

Never knew this was in our backyard, across from Grape Street park in Escondido. With an active toddler visiting Nana's house which is in need of child-proofing, we discovered this inexpensive adventure with air-conditioned indoor activities with kitchen/restaurant area, pirate ship playground, percussion drums, dress-up closets, smaller baby crawl gym, microscope station for the scientific brains, magnet tube wall with balls-though these are usually found in a toddlers' clenched fist wandering throughout the facility. Outside there is a bubble station, Legos in a trickling water stream for building while playing in water, the coolest, tiny wood cabin with mini-wood furniture made out of logs, a chicken coop, sandbox with hidden bones for the paleontologist, garden for the horticulturist, huge foam blocks for builders, miles of tracks to create roads though I think we may need to bring our own Hot Wheels since we saw the balls for the magnetic wall being doubled as vehicles on these tracks. Both indoor and outdoor have picnic areas and though we always get there too late, there is a story time room. We also were treated to free admission due to service in the military which applies until Labor Day. Thanks for a wonderful romp of fun, fun, fun with no restrictions of touching. It was just what we needed!

Just not worth the money it costs to get in. The exhibits are ok the interaction is ok, but I will go to Balboa park and the Fleet center for a good kids museum.

The museum overall isn't too large in size, but our two little ones were able to go around exploring for about 2 hours on a weekend afternoon. It was helpful that there were less than 10 kids in the museum at any given time as that allowed all the kids to share and play comfortably. Our kids loved the Lego water station (bring change of clothes) as well as the Thailand themed grocery and play area. The grown ups loved the magnetic building area, wood tile building area, and HUGE chickens in the coop. Overall it was a nice place to explore and discover (perhaps where they got their name from).

Spent a good 3.5 hours with our 4-year-old grandson, and he is looking forward to going back again. The admission of $8.00 each seems a bit steep: reduced if one of the party is active duty or a veteran. How, exactly, does one prove that one DID serve, but not long enough to be a retiree? I have no identification card that says I am a veteran.
Still, lots for our budding engineer to put together and explore.

My wife and I took our granddaughters, ages 4 1/2and 2 1/2 , for the first time to this museum. Both of them had a great time playing at all the stations, both inside and out. Although it was very crowded it don't bother either of them. Definitely recommend it for young kids.
