Dixon lake is East of Escondido in the foothills. It is a great family place for a variety of outdoor activities. Boating, and fishing are good. We go there for picnic's and find it a wonderful serene spot that is close to town.

You may not, to my knowledge, use any craft of your own. You fish from shore, or from one of their rental boats. Use their Facebook page, or website, or just call the lake to confirm--that would be the easiest, just call... More

Reasonable fees, around $3-$5, yes to the easy hiking as well. Beautiful, scenic lake, worth the trip!
