The walking trail is well kept up and smooth enough to accommodate my walker. There is a large grassy area for dogs to run. There is a leash law, but it doesn't seem to be enforced for small dogs. The walk down the pier gives a beautiful view of the Bay and San Francisco, and is alongside the marina where there are many beautiful boats. There are clean, well maintained public restrooms and quite a bit of public parking (but most of the parking is for marina members and nearby residents. The pier is a perfect vantage point to watch the sunset.

We spent the drizzly, overcast, chilly day on the Pacific Pearl with captain JJ and deck hand Jack and we had a great time! They really took good care of us. I never had a worry about my line or my bait. They hustled and ran whenever someone would yell “FISH ON!!”
We saw humpback whales all day long. Jack (deck hand) saw a 10 ft Thresher shark down the side of the boat! Damn, I missed seeing that one.
I will rebook with them for sure next time!!

when staying at the Hilton Garden Inn, I was able to head out, towards the boardwalk (take a left out of the front door), and then around the entire marina. If you go to the end of the pier, and follow the trail all the way around, it's a perfect 5K back to the HGI. Great views and wonderful "I'm in California!" jogging path.

Scheduled a private charter through Emeryville Sportfishing several weeks in advance. Drove in from 5 hours north, stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn (nice place), showed up at 5:30am at the docks, waiting while all the boats left with their charters. Ours never showed up. Guy from office came down, refunded my $600 and told me they forgot to call the captain of the boat and tell him he had a charter. They said they had no alternatives for us. This was disappointing. We got in our cars and drove back to Lake Shasta and fished for Bass at home. I'll update this review if they make it right with us. I'm not a complainer and I'm not going to get upset about this, but they should offer us an alternative that either refunds our travel costs or gets us out fishing on the same private charter we scheduled and paid for.

I live in view of this beautiful publicly owned but privately managed facility. I rarely launch from their free public ramp, because the conditions are usually too rough after about 11 AM. My first experience with the "hospitality" of Emeryville was having a trailer stolen from their "secure" parking last summer. The office laughed when I complained.
My newest experience (besides getting soaked by the giant waves just outside the enclosure) has been returning from a morning of fishing to get a "final" (though initial) warning on the windshield of my tow vehicle, warning me that my vehicle is "parked in violation of CA State Code #CVC 22653-A, and is subject to towing at Owner's expense." However, it did add that "if I was a member of the marina (KA-CHING!!), I could contact the owner for a permit."
So much for private management of a publicly owned facility... This is how Emeryville Marina offers a free launch ramp... You launch for free and when you get back, your tow vehicle and trailer have been "appropriated" by modern "contract highwaymen" Berry Brother's Towing Service, so you can pay extortionary towing and storage fees that quickly exceed the value of your property, which can then be resold for profit within thirty days!
STAY AWAY from this unfriendly place, that just wants your money. There are truly free launch ramps in Berkeley and on the Oakland estuary just a few miles away that don't let you launch, then threaten to steal your tow vehicle unless (ahem) you pay for your "free launching."

This was my recent view from my hotel room. The real view was even better. 🌁 There is nothing like the San Francisco skyline.

Fresh breezes from Sun Francisco bay. Quiet roads.. few people sleeping in their cars parked by the road...

Sunsets are beautiful and Emoryville Marina is a great spot to walk in the evening. While there try out Trader Vic's for fun drinks and delicious food.

This is a nice, quiet area of the bay. Good for a walk and there are a couple of benches to relax and look at the water and the city in the foreground. Wear a jacket.
