I have purchased a Flexible Ticket with the cancellation terms. Due to Covid-19 the Swedish Government has decided to stop non-essential travel to Sweden from countries outside the EU. I am from Turkey and as per their ticket condition 30 days before I sent an email to info@icebreaker.fi for the cancellation. Although I have their confirmation email with the clear written cancellation terms they are not returning 80% of the payment. ( 20% cancellation fee were also accepted) I have reported the case to Finnish Consumer Agency to claim my rights. Think twice before buying any ticket from them. Don’t let it to become a nightmare!

You have purchased Best Price non-refundable and non-changeable ticket. In difficult Covid situation Polar Explorer was offering solutions for every passenger not to loose the money or ticket. You were upgraded for Flexible tariff ticket with possibility to postpone your cruise with only exception that rebooked ticket can not be cancelled. Your ticket is still valid. Icebreaker cruises were operating this season and will operate next season. You can use your ticket for any available date.

We did this tour from Rovaniemi, Finland and we were really excited about it. We were not disappointed! The coach trip and buffet lunch were pleasant enough, but it is on the ship where the fun begins! Watching the ice crack and break as the ship plows through is really cool. Once the ship comes to a halt you can explore at will, going all over the ship, from the bridge to the engine room and everywhere else. The fun bit though is the swim. At the appointed time, we arrived at the changing room where the staff very quickly and efficiently got us in our orange suits. Then it was outside and into the water. What a blast! The suits keep you warm and afloat. It was so much fun, I really did not want to come out! We also enjoyed walking out on the frozen sea, how often can you do that? We enjoyed this so much. So unique, so much fun, a real winner.

The cruise on the Ice Break was very nice. It is very interesting to see and photograph how the thick ice breaks during the cruise. sailing The tour of the ship is nice and the movie about the history of building ice breaks is very interesting. The experience of wearing the buoyancy suit and swiming in the icy water is very nice. The hot drink afterwards was very tasty. I really liked the idea of getting off the ship to the ice on the sea.

The whole eperiencd was amazing. Starting from the boat snd leaving. The crew, the ship. Was awesome. Just the guide on the bus from Tornio and then back to Rovsniemi was very bad experience. His favourite answer to any question was “I told you”. His attitude ruined the day..

Amazing experience from start till end! We bought the VIP tickets so the amenities were perfect. The certificate given to us at last had no name which was the only disappointment😔 The lunch at the village was amazing thought we were vegetarians we had a good food options and both in variety and taste.
