Davis greenbelt offers people pleasant place to walk (or walk your dogs), or run, or bike, or play sports. And there are many playgrounds for kids too. You can also view many wildlife in this greenbelt, such as Canada geese, great egret, wood duck, mallard, turkey… just to name few. Julie Partansky Pond is the lovely site to watch these birds; unfortunately right now the water level is really low and birds’ number decreases significantly.
This is definitely a first choice for outdoor exercise or a proud place to show your friends who come to visit you in Davis.
Note:
To Julie Partansky Pond, go to 3434 Anderson Rd, there is parking lot and public toilet. You can also find drinking fountain nearby - in front of fountain pond. There is only a short walking distance to Julie Partansky pond.

I run on the Davis green belts almost every single day and I never get tired of it. Safe and scenic paved paths for biking, walking running, etc. Lots of others out enjoying the great outdoors, traveling to work/school, walking their dogs and getting exercise. Parks and playgrounds along the routes. Sometimes water fountains and bathrooms available. Plants changing with the seasons. What's not to love? Feel lucky to live in a city that values its green space

The greenbelts are lovely and especially when you pass great sculptures, street art, and amazing art on the way. It really makes our City unique and a place worth living.

North Davis is fortunate to have the long greenbelts, shady sidewalks with room for biking, strolling, and walking the dog. The paths wind along to Northstar Park where there are benches to rest and playgrounds for young children. The Ponds have geese and goslings during the spring months. There are groups that go birdwatching here. There are even large grassy areas for a soccer game, playing catch, or enjoying a picnic.

Love the greenbelts in Davis, especially north davis where you get to see eclectic art, like the whimsical dogs by Jean Van Keuren.

I recommend going to the city website and downloading a map of our bikes paths and greenbelts. The above photo is of a sculpture located on the Covell Park Greenbelt, which can be accessed at countless points in N. Davis, and directly connects to the Senda Nueva and Northstar Greenbelts. One can choose to pick up anyplace, and either do an approx. 2.5 mile loop (just follow your nose, and you'll loop around to where you came from), or take a shorter walk. For first-time visitors to N. Davis' greenbelts, I recommend parking at Northstar Park, on Anderson, near the intersection of F & Anderson. It is easy to see a short path around the pond, and if you attention, you'll see paths headed south and west of the pond. Get a map first! There are numerous greenbelts in Davis. The above is my favorite.

The miles of shady, grassy greenbelts weaving behind and between clusters of houses is the best feature of Davis. There are miles of paths to explore with flowering shrubs in season, some fall color with interesting artwork tucked away every so often. You need to get a bike-path map to find all of these often long, narrow parks but they are worth the search. Some open up into children's playgrounds, tennis courts or wetland areas with lakes and bird/wildlife viewing platforms. Walkers share the asphalt paths with runners, bikers and strollers so pay attention. While there is easy access to most of the paths from neighborhood streets that deadend into them, parking is somewhat limited there. It you are coming from somewhere else, look for parking on the busier streets that occasionally cut through the parks.

The green belt is not about the spectacular, but rather it is simply a very pleasant network of well maintained paths that wend through various parts of the city. While each green belt is not always connected, each area is large enough that you can easily get in a good outing - be it a walk with friends and family, a walk with your hound or a quick bike ride. Davis really is pretty special. We have a green belt right outside our back gate - what a gift.

The green belt is a series of small grassy areas and bike/pedestrian paths that interconnect and join larger parks and venues throughout the city. Some are very new, others well established. Walking or biking, there are great venues throughout Davis that most visitors to Davis will not see unless they park their cars and hit the paths. We chose Davis as our home in the early 90's, and completed that by buying a home in 1995. The schools were #21, but the parks and greenbelt were a close second. And having UC Davis as one of the main venues in the city didn't hurt!

Davis green belts area specialty of the city of Davis. Couples walking, biking or running, soccer teams practicing for games, there's always some activity somewhere. Davis has a 12 mile bike loop that criss crosses green belts thru out the city. Great way to see different neighborhoods and get exercise at the same time.

No. There are a number of parks and paths which run throughout a good portion of town. Many are connected to one another. There are additional parks in town. None charge admission.

I can't figure out where this actually is, where the pretties parts are.

Find a description of the areas on the Da is wiki. Not sure "pretty" is the right word for the greenbelt. Its more that you can enjoy a pleasant walk or ride - free of traffuc hassle.

Depending on where you are on the green belts in Davis, there are public parking lots, street side parking (sometimes limited) and bike parking. Signs are posted in the downtown areas for parking limits.
