Nice area but nothing special. The café is nice and had this year plenty of different icecream options. There are some smaller shops of local handicraft

I discovered this almost by accident, on my way to Höga Kusten. I arrived very early, so I was almost the only one there. Plenty of information and old buildings to see, on the ironworkd - very well preserved. The surroundings are also very nice and you can bring a picnic and eat there. Suitable for kids.

Olofsfors Bruk is an old and well-preserved ironworks with a lot of Swedish industrial history. We drove there from Umea, about 50 km. A beautiful place with interesting buildings, but little to do here when there is no guided tour. We walked around the area and looked at the buildings for about an hour, and then we had a nice lunch at Kafe Anno 1762.

This place is a must visit when traveling in the area. Olofsfors is a historical place that today has about 100 residents, and the site has a great history that started in the mid-18th century. The road that goes through the town has been used since the middle ages. The town is extremely beautiful during the summer, and a visit at the local (organic) cafe is a must. Tours are offered during the summer, and there are plenty of signs with information all over the site. Highly recommended!

A beautiful place in the nature where to learn something about Iron works, a bit uncomfortable to reach without a car, I came by train from Umea and I had to walk about 30 mins at the side of the road from Nordmaling's train station, but the landscape is beautiful and there are really few cars, so, no danger. At the Nordmaling's train stations's tourist office they gave me the right ads to reach it
