A very short leisure walkway ... well worth it. Amazing spectacular views. Hubby wasn’t feeling well so I ventured out on my own. There are a couple of benches to sit down and take it all in and several steps you will have to take along the path. Nothing strenuous.

Not to strenuous but parts you can take stairs and there are many. It is only open on Tue, The, and Sat. which we thought was strange. nice views and we were able to see lots of wild flowers. Worth the time if there on correct days

You can actually walk about 2 miles on this ocean view trail. We started at the top of Selva Road (southern end) and went around to the Nature Center (great staff) and then to Amber Lantern Street to join the Bluff Trail which goes all the way to the Harbor (where you will want to stop and eat). Spectacular views. Great hike but not for young children as it is steep in some areas. Best for age 10 and over Beware of the pit bull dogs that stupid owners are trying to walk and have no control over; they do bite!!

A popular trail among local residents especially in the morning and at sunset. On a clear day magnificent views of Catalina island and on occasion San Clemente island to the south. Easy and well maintained (unpaved trails) interspersed with benches off the main trail for viewing, photography or just sitting quietly to enjoy the views. Spectacular sunsets ! The area is a natural habitat for a variety of birds, small mammals and in summer an occasional rattlesnake ! Low flying pelicans in formation are a frequent site... as are the honking of seals and otters offshore. Ample parking at the Nature Interpretive Center at the south end of trail. Well worth a visit....

This a short walk in a lovely residential area. It shows you some of the history of Dana Point and provides stunning views over harbour and along the coast. The whole lantern area is being upgraded and it is a very gentle walk along the bluffs. At sunset it also provides a fantastic viewpoint to watch from.

We became aware of the trail's when talking to some people. The city has several trails that are easy if U can walk up and down hill. One trail starts with a view of the Dana Point harbor - parking is nearby and the walk to this area is easy. The second trail is located in the same general area but down several streets and goes down and then up ending in a residential areal. U can park at either end. There is a statue in this area of the "Hide Drogher" and another area that is from an early hotel attempt. Easy to find when U know how to get there. Great views from all looking down into the harbor. Enjoy

This outlook is a part of a lengthy trail along the bluff. One can begin at Strands Beach and hike through the community up the switchback path to the Nature trails and over the top of the hill to the Nature Center, from there down to Green Lantern and over to the outlook site. Still feel like walking, follow Santa Clara street to Amber Lantern and another outlook and access to a bluff trail with commerative statue for the Hide Throwers that were at this site in the 1800’s continue south to Lantern Bay Park and down the sidewalk to the Harbor. Now all one has to do is walk back, LOL

This is a short walk led by a docent from the center on site, you must have reservations, but well worth it.

This is a cool walk and a bit of a history lesson of the colorful Dana Point past. Everything from the ruins of a "was to be" speak easy, (they repealed prohibition just before it's opening) to a bronze bigger than life statue of a sailor throwing hides off the cliff to awaiting trading ships, ( truth is the priests had the indians carry the hides down the cliffs as they were the slaves of Christianity) this is a walk rich in ghosts from the3 pasts. Awesome waterfall when it rains, which is never in So Cal.

This is such a nice trail, quickly leaving the town and houses behind for a leisurely hour stroll. As you get out to the point the views, more than 180 degrees, are fabulous. To the the pelicans flying in formation below you is unique. A very nice nature center sits at the beginning of the trail. No dogs, no bikes, just friendly folks out for a quiet stroll.
