Salt Creek is an excellent beach. The grassy park above the beach is a great place for picnics and parties with the beach below. Beautifully beach with excellent surf break. Ample affordable parking is a big plus as well.

The beach is beautiful, the sand is soft, the parking is cheap, and the waves are fun. You have to walk down a pretty long hill, but that just keeps it real. It's the best in the spring and fall. Enjoy!

Great stretch of beach in Dana Point (just below the Ritz). It has a great surf break, and there are many excellent surfers to watch. The other end is part of the Monarch Beach Resort, and is usually pretty quiet. Easy parking above the beach...More

There is a steep downhill to the beach. Once there, we walked down the beach a ways to distance ourselves from the Ritz Carlton guests that were congregating close to the resort above. Once we got situated, enjoying the sun, water and beach was easy....More

This beach is steep to walk to although totally worth it! Great beach with not too many people. Lots of seashells and creatures too. Our family really enjoyed Salt Creek.

Salt Creek beach parking lot is usually full in summer. You can go down under the bridge to the beach, or up under PCH to Sea Terrace park. There is another beach with a free parking lot, but I won't tell you about it ;)...More

This beach is fairly easy to get to and typically has parking. When we went recently, the shore was very steep but still fun and a great place.

Salt Creek beach worked ideally for kids who wanted to do activities like boogieboarding as there were some waves throughout our beach day. Smaller kids enjoyed playing in the silky sand and splashing in the water. Amazing views, great beach!

Hi. When we were at the beach, there was a dad playing with his toddler son that my wife found entertaining and took several photos of him. So, yes to your question. Fairly large beach in terms of length, not overly deep... More

There is a pay to park parking lot at the top of the hill by the beach and a steep walk down. Or you can pay $1 each to take a golf cart shuttle ride down to the beach with your chairs and umbrella.

Salt creek and Huntington are both surfing beaches. If your kids are very small, I would suggest Baby Beach in Dana Point Harbor. There are no waves there and the kids can be in the water all day.
