We stopped to see what was going on in the harbor. We discovered the tall ships and took a lot of pictures there. It would have been great if either of the ships was open to tour. The shops were unappealing. Finished up taking some pictures of yachts and left.

Dana Point Harbor is a beautiful and clean walk by the marina. There's plenty restaurants, cute shopping and coffee shops right on the harbor and always enjoy a quick walk down the marina and watching the various boats! Easy cemented path takes you from one end of the harbor where Catalina Express or whale watching boats embark and disembark with... More

Beautiful, convenient and so much to do. Several trips here and each time has been great. Nice swimming area, stand up paddle board rental, kayak rental, sailing lessons, and whale watching trips. Can't go wrong planning a day here

I used to love this place. Beautiful and peaceful. It is a lovely place for a walk. It is somewhat safe although I've never walked there alone. And it also has the cute little beach ... Baby beach. But ever since the introduction of Pokémon GO, there are idiots walking around everywhere staring at their phones. Apparently this is one... More

WE love love love Dana Point Harbor. It is the best kept secret and far better than Newport or Huntington Beach Harbor. It is small, quaint but beautiful. There are wonderful restaurants, and nice shops.

I actually visited twice this week -- once for a relaxing view of the ocean and once for the Tall Ships Festival, which deserves its own review. I enjoy the harbor around the Pilgrim and behind the Ocean Institute where you can look out over the breakwater and out to sea. There's a nice "Little Beach" there inside the breakwater... More

Just participated in the Tall Ships Festival, and it was great. Toured the tall ships, enjoyed some great grilled corn and chicken sausage with tons of peppers and onions... yum. Bought a cool hat, and reveled in the "Renaissance Fair" atmosphere including dozens of characters in costume, playing music, working an anvil, etc. Really cool atmosphere for kids and parents...
