Dana Point Charters offers a REAL sailing experience. Jump aboard Out of the Blue and enjoy your day on the ocean just outside Dana Point. Whether you’re interested in finding whales and dolphins or wish to take the helm of this 33-foot sailboat, the adventure is up to you. Due to the south facing beaches of Dana Point, the seas normally calm, so these adventures are great for anyone. All of our sailing adventures are led by Captain Jeff, a U.S. Coast Guard licensed captain. This one-of-a-kind experience is something you will treasure the rest of your life. This was the second time I have done this cruise. This was the first time for my boyfriend and his 15 year old son. The fireworks were amazing as always! The crew is very friendly. The bathroom isn’t that awesome but, it’s a fishing boat. I will go again! I love being able to buy a beer while we cruise. I may bring a folding chair next time because my feet were hurting from standing. I wish I could post all the pictures!

Although this 5-star review is always good to have, this review is not for Dana Point Charters, I suspect the customer accidentally selected the wrong company. Dana Point Charters offers private sailing charters and doesn't offer fishing and they are not fishing boats but rather immaculate sailboats, and our bathrooms smell great. :)

I have chartered sailboats in various places literally around the world. This was my second trip with these guys and it has been a great experience both times. These guys really hit all the right marks. First, their boats are in fabulous condition and are kept neat and clean. Second, both Captain Jeff and Captain Bryan are nice guys and carry on a great conversation. Third, and equally important, they let you do whatever you want from sailing the boat to doing nothing at all to help. I would highly recommend.

I would give DPC 10 stars if I could but Google only allows 5! My colleagues and I were in Dana Point for a 3 day real estate conference with Engel & Volkers. We had a few hours on Monday (3/2/20) to enjoy the area so I booked a 2.5 hour sail with Captain Bryan at Dana Point Charters because I am a lifelong sailor and can't go to the ocean without getting on a boat and also because I wanted to treat my Agents to a fun morning before the conference started. And we had an absolute blast! Not only was the wind and weather perfect, Cap Bryan and Oceans Away were phenomenal. Bryan struck that perfect balance between fun and safety so we felt safe at all times. He is a premier sailor and his Catalina 35.5 is in absolutely perfect condition. He let me steer for almost the entire time as he knew that's what I wanted to do most. Some of my team had never been sailing before and they had the best time. I highly recommend sailing with DPC and Captain Bryan as a team-building event, to just get out on the water and for your soul. Exceptional!

We took a 2 hour sail with Captain Jeff and can only say it was FABULOUS! We took 2 of our grandchildren. He was kind and concerned they had a good experience. He was patient with their questions; clearly answered all and joked with them too. Well, he took us out and found a huge pod of dolphins. It was amazing to spend time watching them swim alongside our boat and all around us they jumped and played showing us what a magic place the sea is. It was a great experience that I will never forget. Highly recommend,

iBASEt had a Sailing Regatta Executive Teambuilding event with Dana Point Charters. Captain Jeff and Captain Bryan did a wonderful job tying in our companies strategic goals. Sailing Regatta helped build our teamwork, communication and critical thinking skills. We had two sailboats with two teams of 5. Each sailboat had a Captain who taught us safety, the basics of sailing, and communication with one another on our assigned role. Both Captains made the event fun and engaging. I highly recommend them! The event was unforgettable and loads of fun. We got an excellent day - sun was out, wind was up for a safe comfortable sail.

We had an incredible time this afternoon sailing with Captain Bryan. He was professional, friendly, and very eager to see we all enjoyed ourselves. His boat was pristine, comfortable, and built for a smooth ride. Bryan let us know that everyone in our party was welcome to take the helm and was an excellent, clear-spoken instructor. It ended up our two young men were the most eager to do take him up on the offer and off we flew! We all agree that today's trip was the perfect mix of excitement and enough quieter moments to enjoy the views of the coast and nosh on some snacks. We are very thankful for the experience!

This was our first sailing experience, and we couldn't have asked for a better one going through, Dana Point Charters. We were excited from the start, just seeing the beautiful, 35' Catalina sailboat we'd be sailing on "Oceans Away". Then Captain Bryan was a great host, an excellent sailing instructor, and gave us a real hands on experience. And if that wasn't enough, about halfway through our cruise, Bryan pointed out some Dolphins that were at least a mile away, said he might be able to get us closer to them, then after about ten minutes of him showing us how to "Tack" the boat in that direction, he said he "had a feeling they were very close" then just a few seconds later (with my video camera rolling) Dolphins started jumping out of the water right next to our boat. We'll never forget it! We immediately dubbed him, "The Dolphin Whisperer". Both Captain Bryan, and Captain Jeff, who confirmed our reservations and sailing time, are the real deal in our book.

Dana Point Charters was a fantastic experience! My husband surprised me for our anniversary by booking this private boat for three hours. Captain Jeff was fantastic, quite knowledgeable and his boat was spotless!! It was my first time sailing and was just a wonderful time over the 3-hour period. Highly recommend doing this with this sailing charter company.

Captain Jeff and First Mate Brian took four of us on a sunset sail and made sure we all had a blast! Jeff was an enthusiastic and patient coach who gave each of us the opportunity to take the helm of his 32 ft sailboat. The “Out of the Blue” is a lovingly maintained beauty, suited for both racing and cruising, and we thoroughly enjoyed sailing in the waters off Dana Point Harbor. This sail was one of the highlights of our visit to the area!

Jeff and Brian did a fabulous job making a family of four (who had never sailed before) have an absolutely awesome time. I would highly recommend giving Jeff a call with any of your sailing adventures.
