The tour was well organized and I happened to be there on a day when it was a relatively small group with just 10 of us. At about two hours long it was the perfect length and you see a lot and as it's a...More
This was our 1st Studio tour and it was AMAZING! The guide (former actor and Ghostbusters fan), was simply the best guide, showing us around, explaining so much stuff then keeping my wife and I for an extra 30 minutes to take pictures of us...More
This tour was great! Not only did I become a fan girl because our tour guide is a STAR; but, we also were able to see some incredible and interesting things! Sound Stages, Sets of shows that are on tv right now, memorabilia! It was...More
It may be because we are not American but Norwegian, but we found this tour fairly boring. The highlight was the Jeopardy set, and another TV show we have never heard of. Otherwise we were mostly shown the outside of stages and told which films...More
We did this and the Warner brothers tour. Yes the Warner brothers tour is longer and more popular but Sony is worth a visit too. Especially if you’re into the shows and films that were shot there.

I was a little hesitant to go on this tour after reading some of the reviews on here. But I was very happy we did this tour. Our guide, Dave, did a great job in keeping people interested. We got to see the Wheel of...More
The parking is free, just make reservations. You can park yourself or have a valet park it. You will have to go thru metal detectors so leave that stuff in the car. Cameras are permitted, most of the tour is exterior so most photos are...More
We enjoyed the Sony tour, which was smaller than the other studio tours we attended. It was a walking tour and I think there were about 10 participants, so it was easy to ask questions of the guide. Our guide, David, was a lot of...More
Visited Friday morning with the Go LA Pass. Our tour guide did a great job and showed a sincere passion for the business. Appreciated the free valet parking and free picture. Tried to schedule a tour with the other rival studio (WB) and found them...More
I wasn't sure if I should go here based on the mixed reviews. Based on my love of TV shows and film, I thought it was worth seeing, and my expectations were certainly met. I don't think this tour deserves the bad rap some of...More

We used Go LA cards when we went over from the UK. We rang ahead and booked on a mobile. Only on it for a few minutes so it didn’t cost much to ring. You’ll need to have all go LA card numbers handy as they take these as a reservation and you’ll get a confirmation email. If you go on the smart destinations website, you can download an information pack on all the attractions included on the go LA card, which tells you which one needs to be booked in advance as well as the phone numbers for the attractions. I hope this helps!

WE did a walk up and while they cannot sell you or process your Go Card to give you the ticket at their booth, they put us through to a phone number who could process us immediately and we went on the next tour. So answer is, sort of - and it depends on availability. There doesn't seem to be a many fully booked tours at Sony verses other studios.
We're staying in Santa Monica and considered doing the Sony Pictures Studio Tour in Culver City. I have visited their website and see it costs $25. Has anybody taken this tour? Was it worth it? How long does it last? Any recommendations would be helpful. Thanks

Just came back from LA and did the Sony Pictures Studio Tour - I would say it is the best studio tour we have been on. Our tour lasted almost 2 1/2 hours - the guide - Will - was very informative. With the writer's strike no show tapings, but you saw a lot of set design on their sound stages for new movies and reality tv shows, some musical rehearsals, etc. It was worth it - I would go with the earlier tour to catch more action and less traffic on your way out. have fun!
Paramount Studio Tour or Sony Pictures Studio Tour? Which? (7 Replies)
Which do you recommend? Paramount Studio Tour or Sony Pictures Studio Tour? I've been to Warner Brothers, and Universal, now I want to visit another, but only have time for one. Which one's better, and why, how do I choose? Thank you.

Neither one of those two will do much for you if you've already been to WB and Univ. They are smaller versions of the WB tour.

It's not as much fun and exciting as Warner Bros tour would be. I used to work there and would not know what they ossible would show you during a tour. The place has some history, a smal backlot which is nothing to talk home about and that's about it
