A great view of the lighthouses from Gardur point. It’s windy crisp and cold here. Be careful as you can seriously get frost bite while walking around for some minutes. A very nice picture taking opportunity. Beautiful place in Iceland.

The Lighthouse was just a few minutes walk, in an open, flat area of the point. It was scenic and untampered. I am so glad that I choose to stay my first and last nights in Iceland at this point of Keflavik. It was convenient...More

We drove around the peninsula after an early flight arrival on our first day in Iceland. The setting is spectacular and there is camping here too. Lots of seabird, marine life and great views (weather permitting). Some nice cafes and restaurants scattered around the peninsula....More

I looked at a map of Iceland before we arrived and became interested in the Kevflavik Peninsula which is a few km west of the airport. The very small village of Gardur hosts a couple of lighthouses, so I thought it might be worth a...More

If you have time in Keflavik and a car, take a short drive out to see thee light house. Great view of the bay and you can snap some pics of water fowl. Nice place to see the sunset if you time it correctly.

What began as a stop for a bathroom break turned out to be the last and best adventure of our vacation in Iceland. As we were exiting the watershed, we happened to notice a sign pointing to the quaint little lighthouse that read Old Lighthouse...More

After visit to Blue Lagoon we drove here. It was a nice surprise when we stumbled upon a new tiny cafe that opened 4 days ago (our visit was on 7/14) inside the little old lighthouse. It serves simple coffee tea beer soft drinks and...More

We eventually found this museum and lighthouses but all was closed due to repainting, seems a strange time of year to repaint in peak holiday time, both lighthouses were also closed so we couldn't see any of it;

The museum was closed for renovations, but we walked around and looked at the lighthouses. Was a nice stop.
