Ups: The whale sharks were huge and insanely beautiful!! The water was very clear which provided us with great visibility. Downs: They take you on a boat and drive about 40 metres away from the shore.. You can literally swim out there yourself. They also...More

I was expecting a lot when planning this for a close encounter with the whale shark. However it turn out not so pleasant as the sea water is extremely chopping. Crowded at the same time. If I had least expect perhaps I won't feel that...More

After listening to a stern talk from the tour company at 5am before seeing the whalesharks - about how to stay minimum 4 metres away from the animals, not to touch or overcrowd them, I was naively shocked at the utter chaos of this experience....More

Like a number of the reviews, I came away from the experience with mixed feelings - exhilarated but doubtful of its propriety and long term effects on the ecosystem. There are measures to protect the environment and the whale sharks - you are not allowed...More

A lot of people, screams and noise...but when you go under water its just amazing, you are so close to sharks that you could easily touch them, some times one is next too you and one swimms under you- that was magical.

There are not two ways about this - I really did enjoy this experience but a part of me does doubt the ethical stand point on it. On one hand these are animals that were in danger of extinction so this practise has helped to...More

Can I go two times in the same day? If I show up early (5am) and get on one of the first boats, can I sign up again when I get out of the water to go again later that same day? If I sign up early, what time can I expect to finish?

Its a regulation that you have to ride with banka since they set the area where they will feed the whale. After 12noon whale tend to live far from the shore tour area. and it is not allowed by the management to.

No flippers provided. You'll have to hold on to the side of the boat at all times. Nothing to worry about as the staffs will be watching you most of the time to remind you if you're not holding on to it.
