We knew we wanted to get to the other side of the island once we got off the ferry. We were getting ready to grab an Uber when we saw this bike rental place. I am SO GLAD we decided to do this because it was truly a highlight of our trip! Our friends got a tandem bicycle and my husband and I each got an electric bicycle. It was so much fun to ride through the beautiful streets and look at all the beautiful homes and feel the sea breeze on our faces. The streets had bike lanes so we felt extremely safe riding through town. The bikes came with locks so it was easy to find bike racks once we got to the beach and lock them up until it was time to head back. Trust me - rent the bicycle!

We rented at the Hollands at the ferry terminal. They guys in the shop were great. We were about 20 minutes into our ride when my sons tire blew. After a quick call, the guys were there with a replacement bike in about 10 minutes and we were on our way. We've rented twice from this shop and can't recommend it enough. Very affordable and good equipment

We took the ferry over to Coronado Island and walked 2 minutes to Holland’s Bicycles. We rented two standard bikes which came with a bike lock large enough for securing both bikes. It took us maybe 5 minutes before we were out on the beautiful streets of Coronado. When we wanted to stop somewhere, we locked up the bikes and didn’t have to worry about parking or traffic. To bike from the ferry side to Hotel Del Coronado was a leisurely 15 minutes max. Orange Street was a little busy (cars) for my liking so we took residential side streets most of the time. The houses are so cute! It was nice riding around in the perfect weather of San Diego. Biking is definitely our recommendation for seeing Coronado.

So hear my little story. Due to the virus, they haven't been renting bikes for a while. I reserved the bike rental through rentabikenow.com. When I called to confirm the rental, they said they didn't rent bikes. I was confused, and called again. They said I was the first bike renter they had in months, and they weren't renting bikes directly from the store yet. So, if you want to ensure you rental, get it through that website 24 hours0 in advance. When I picked up the e-bike, for my wife, as no self-respecting athlete, like me, would ever need one; Nelson was very helpful, and got us on our way. Uno problemo...it was 1:00, and we planned to circle the 24 mile bay loop, but the shop closed at 3:00. Well we were pedaling our way around, and a biker we met told us that the 5th street ferry wasn't operating, and we would hafta go to the 1st street ferry. We pushed hard and made it to the ferry at 2:20 Well the 1st street ferry runs on the hour, and the 5th street ferry, which we passed by, runs on the bottom of the hour...AND WAS WORKING!! So we had to wait til 3:00 to catch the ferry, ride the 15 minutes to cross, then pedal to the store to return the bikes. We called the shop, and they said they would be closed, but told us to go around the back to drop of the bikes. How accomodating!! So, bottom line. Rent thru the website, know the ferry schedule, if you are going to use it; know that about 2-1/2 hours of pedaling will be needed for a pretty good athlete to ride the course, with a hybrid; and RENT FROM HOLLAND'S BICYCLES!!

After spending too much time on the beach we needed the wind in our face and decided to rent a couple bikes. This facility is centrally located and an easy walk from any of the hotels. Rentals were quick, inexpensive and perfect for the flat terrain. The staff is friendly and efficient and were quick with an appropriate route suggestion. We definitely recommend this facility for bike rentals when you are in Coronado.

Our family of 4 rented a 2 bench surrey for a fun ride around part of the island. Checking it out and back in was quick and easy. They gave us a map of where it's better to ride a surrey. Helmets are required for anyone under 18 and are provided.

There are a lot of choices on Coronado, but Holland's is hands down the best with the biggest selection of bikes to fit any need with highly knowledgeable staff. I mean, come on, the guy at the counter opens up Google and actually shows us our route with a virtual tour! Who does that?? Don't even think about trying anyone else.

My husband and I rented bikes from Holland's Bicycles to tool around Coronado. This was one of three places where we rented in bikes in CA and was the least expensive of all - $25 for the entire day. The staff were very friendly and the bikes were great. I rented an Electra Townie and it was perfect for touring the city. You can see so much more by bike than walking or driving! Parking alone at Hotel Del Coronado was $30 or $40 for a few hours. We biked along the beach and then locked the bikes and walked directly onto the hotel property to have a drink/check out the hotel. I would highly recommend renting bikes from Holland's.

As long as you can ride a bike, I strongly encourage rented renting from Holland's as your transportation. We parked our car down by the beach for free-no meters and walked 3 blocks to rent bikes. They provide helmets, baskets, and a lock. They handed us a map which showed length of various rides. It's a very bike friendly place and mostly flat, so it's a great way too see the sights at your own pace. Plenty of public facilities too.
If you have any mechanical issues, they're a phone call away. Best $20 for 4 hrs we spent on vacation.
