Went on Labor Day. Easy parking the beach was pretty crowded and a lot of dogs. All playing and well behaved. We have a 7 month old doodle who went for the -st time. She was so happy, jumping around like a kangaroo! We had a blast. No bathrooms. Doggie shower at beginning of pathway to the portion of dog beach. If it wasn’t a holiday, the planes flying overhead are awesome!

although somewhat crowded on the day i visited, my dog and i had a good time. folks were attentive to their dogs, and this area of the beach appeared to be well maintained. there were water fountains and restrooms nearby. and, even though it was mid-morning on a Saturday, i found parking just a few blocks away.

The northern part of the beach offers an area for pooches to run, chase each other, get wet and enjoy a state of bliss.

There's something about seeing dogs in/around the water as they enjoy the elements. Even if not a dog owner, worth the trip to visit to enjoy some four-legged friends enjoying the outdoors

I brought my dog down to the Coronado Dog Beach while we were staying at the Hotel del Coronado and he had a blast.

The water was warm and inviting, the dogs enjoyed frolicking in the waves, but do be careful of your small dogs - I had to swim out a considerable way to retrieve my pomeranian who was carried backwards on a wave. The beach is clean, well-maintained and as with any dog-centric adventure, the people are friendly and pleasant. A perfect day for you and your furry family.

I took my dog here for her first visit to the beach. She had a blast! The beach was clean. No poop in sight. The dogs were friendly and the owners were responsible. The waves were not too big, which was important to me because my dog is only 8 pounds. Although she didn't like going in the water, she absolutely loved running on the sand. Parking can be hard to find and it is a bit of a treck to get from the street to the dog beach. There are no restrooms at the dog beach, but the nearby beach had restrooms. When we left the beach there was an area to hose her off. The only thing I didn't like was that she got fleas from the sand.

So many happy fur-balls, all running, chasing balls, braving the cold water, and (surprisingly) all getting along really well! This expanse of beach is located between the military fencing and signage and the end of the Hotel Del Coronado. We could have stayed for hours just watching them cavort.

Best dog beach anywhere--big, safe and so much fun. You can have your dog off leash or on the leash depending on what you want. All the dogs were running and playing and having a wonderful time

When visiting San Diego we usually spend a day at Coronado beach. This a great beach that is wide and has nice soft sand. If you walk the beach you'll need to get closer to the water line where the sand is more packed down as well as if you are barefoot the sand can get very hot (near the water it is nice and cool). At the northern end of Coronado Beach is the excellent dog park. Since we live in Wisconsin we had to leave our dog at home but we totally enjoy visiting the dog beach area. Even if you don't have a dog, this is a fun place to visit.

Never saw so many happy tail wagging in the open, all the dogs (and humans) well behaved. Great place to burn some energy for the four legged friends! Would visit again even without a dog :)
