This is a very nice community facility that is clean and well staffed with friendly and helpful people. Although we didn't use it, the wifi must be good, as there were several people working away on their devices. There is plenty of comfortable seating in which to enjoy the many periodicals or large coffee table books. The bathrooms are kept very clean and there are no unsavory characters hanging around, so kids can wander in safety. This is a great place just on the edge of the downtown area and near the police station to get away from the traffic and crowds. Parking is on the nearby streets.

We really just wanted to use the library bathroom, but were taken by the excellent assortment of books for sale in the lobby. As well, they have a little bookstore at the back of the library with worthwhile books for sale at very reasonable prices. Bravo!

The areas of the library are well design to keep everyone happy with what they are doing, I use to take my kids here and read them laying down in the floor of a wooden house. You can do almost everything that doesn't involve jumping or yelling ! Pristine installations.

It's convenient, the people are very helpful, they have all the books, dvds, and newspapers. They have the best reading rooms. And, best of all, no homeless using the library as a place to live!

I wanted to find out more about Kate Sessions and was shown a book of her writings. So interesting. The Speckles Reading Room is worth seeing but also a haven for quiet, relaxing reading. And the book shop is a font of books not availble elsewhere.

Wonderful library in historic building. Great collection of local history and Wizard of Oz display in children's library. Check for special programming.

Libraries are a good measure of a town and its people. This one makes Coronado look great. The building itself is stunning and laid out nicely. Lots of nooks and crannies for reading/studying. Staff were pleasant enough if somewhat indifferent. If I lived on Coronado Island I'd be there all the time.

I love libraries and this library is wonderful. There is a little shop outside, in the back, "Secondhand Prose". Great spot to purchase a book, then donate it back after you've read it.

Being something of a library junkie I often find myself visiting libraries on my travels. Of course it is only natural to compare them to the one in my own home town, Coronado.

Some say libraries are something of a dinosaur these days because the media technology had changed so very much. Struggling to remain relevant. And for some that is true. Funding for new libraries often goes to the shell and not what is within. It is like looking at a beautiful face. What is inside that head? One not need look far. The main San Diego library is the perfect example.

Keeping the modern library of today practical and useful has changed somewhat over the years. Computers now occupy valuable floor space in most libraries. And there are CDs and DVDs that compete for our attention.

Not to mention all the outside competition like Google's very popular Kindle and Audible which are ever so convenient and can be downloaded directly to our media devices. No library visit required.

I think the Coronado Library is struggling to remain a library in the classic sense of the word as a repository of knowledge and source of entertainment. Print books are expensive. At the same time it has become more of a venue where locals can meet.

One can only admire the dedication of the dedicated staff and wonderfully helpful volunteers. They are always available to assist me in my endeavors. And the location is simply the best. A huge city park just across the street and a brand new senior center is just next door.

I just hope the city fathers and mothers realize what a jewel the library is. The heart of the community.
