Lots of shops to spend your money and places to eat ... some premium quality and expensive and others so so quality and expensive. The usual quota of T-shirt shops but a fun walk just about any time. Nice in the evenings and safe to be anywhere. A unique area with a wide palm tree lined center divide to the four lane street. Be careful crossing the street as some crossings are marked and some not. Although pedestrians have the right of way at all corners, don't let your headstone read, "But, he had the right of way."

Mnay restaurants. All outdoors. People only wearing masks
80% of the time. To be avoided at all costs. I do not consider the area safe in consideration of the non-compliance with
the mandate for masks by Governor Newsom. Try a visit to
this area next summer.

The "Downtown" Coronado is a small touch of Americana, with excellent dining, shopping and entertainment options. From Lambs Players Theater, the Historical Assn Museum, to, among many others, the Tent City Restaurant, many retail stores -
A "Norman Rockwell" down town.
These are but a few of the many reasons we are planning on retiring to Coronado.
The small town vibe, and moderate climate only minutes from San Diego, across the bridge, where, if we desire, we can get "The Big City" experience.

We’ve absolutely love the quaint downtown filled with adorable shops and delicious restaurants. Walk around town and absorb the atmosphere, especially near the Hotel Del Coronado.
There’s also a great candy shop (Fuzziwigs), the “Flower Lady of Coronado” (an outdoor flower shop next to a beautiful fountain) and countless shops offering everything from souvenir sweatshirts and T’s to home decor and clothing. Moo Time has great ice cream and the Del is an experience. Book a stay, have a meal or just walk around this historic inn. It’s worth a stop while you’re here.
Don’t plan to go into town late as most shops close early.

Downtown Coronado has a lot to offer and a few big challenges. There are many different shops catering to tourists and locals- specialty shops, a great bookstore, 2 hardware stores, and much more. There are a range of restaurants offering everything from Mexican cuisine to Sushi. What this town center does not have in ample quantity is accessible parking (and they do readily issue expensive parking tickets!). Parking challenges make access to shops and restaurants difficult. Further adding to mobility challenges is often heavy traffic volume. There are a few traffic lights that are extra long. Consider leaving your car at your hotel or home.

If you visit Coronado, don't miss taking the time to stroll around downtown on Orange Avenue. Wonderful place to walk up and down. Nice slow place in this small town so close to the hustle and bustle of San Diego. Lots of places to shop, eat, people watch, visit museums, and see a bit of history.
