There isn't very much to do at Silver Strand State Beach. My sister and I spent a lot of time here, however, since we had nothing going on during the day. We walked about 2 miles south down the beach. There are lots of interesting shells and sand dollars to be found here. Over all, I wouldn't say it's a... More

Great beach. It is wide and clean. Water is clean, warm and beautiful. Lifeguards are on duty. Cafe/Grille open during season. Rentals available, boggy board, etc. A great place to relax, snooze, read a book....just off the highway, but you don't hear the traffic...just the waves. Delicious! Joel & Rosalie...Boston, MA

This beach is magical with what looks like golden ore shavings in the sand, undulating in glorious patterns. The cycling is level and altogether pleasant. Would recommend for someone alone, for a couple, for a family. If you visit San Diego, you gotta go!

We visited out of American school holidays, which I can imagine are more busy, but the beach is very accessible, there was parking, and tables for food. The beach is left with seaweed for environmental reasons, so don't expect miles of unbroken sand.

We went to this beach for a family reunion and liked how there was access to both the ocean and to the bay via a tunnel. The ocean water was cold but our teens enjoyed surfing waves. They appreciated having wetsuits to keep a little warmer. We recommend canopy or shade tents and a place near a lifeguard with a... More

We came this way on a advice from a friend. She said the "Was it not like I said?" Where is the white, soft sand? We saw tan sand like on the east coast, with a lot of washed up items. We never went to the Coronado Hotel beach area because we are not the shopping tourist. I would make... More

This little beach is tucked away on the east side of the island. We found it along the bike path we enjoyed with our rented bikes. The sand is clean and the views are breathtaking! Love this place!

On our trip to San Diego we wanted to find shells! The first place we went was disappointing. Silver strand was amazing. We walked along the beach for hours. There were shells everywhere. In the water and on the beach!!! Lots of sand dollars too!! We had so much fun here. We arrived early in the day. In fact there... More
