Getting around Coronado on a busy summer weekend was grating. We enjoyed getting out to this beach and away from the throngs of people. While not as scenic as some beaches, we... read more

This little beach is tucked away on the east side of the island. We found it along the bike path we enjoyed with our rented bikes. The sand is clean and the views are breathtaking! Love this place!

On our trip to San Diego we wanted to find shells! The first place we went was disappointing. Silver strand was amazing. We walked along the beach for hours. There were shells everywhere. In the water and on the beach!!! Lots of sand dollars too!! We had so much fun here. We arrived early in the day. In fact there... More

Within two weeks we have been in the Atlantic Ocean at Ocean City, MD and now we are in the Pacific Ocean. Sand here is 'soft' and water temperature is actually the same as the Atlantic was - 72 degrees. Water was enjoyable, not too rough, and just warm enough. There is a place nearby to rent beach chairs and... More

Getting around Coronado on a busy summer weekend was grating. We enjoyed getting out to this beach and away from the throngs of people. While not as scenic as some beaches, we did enjoy the shorter walk through the sand while lugging our beach stuff. The distance from parking lot to ocean isn't bad at all! There are tons of... More

Went to the beach early morning. Very nice shells and sand dollars. Found a large beautiful clam shell . very nice beach. You can walk for miles. You can camp on this beach but only RVs. Ten dollars to park for the day. Had a great time

The Strand is that link between San Diego and Coronado. It's a beautiful area and one worth driving across. The park is an excellent way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Beautiful, long, clean beach with lots of space. Great waves. Bring a beach umbrella and sunscreen. Not many places to buy food/drinks but there are some. Easy to find, and easy to park. Parking fee, but not expensive.

This takes a little bit of getting to, but is probably the sandiest beach among the San Diego area State Beaches. Some Navy and local families, but this is usually not as crowded as others and has a very long stretch (the strand) of sandy beach on the ocean side. You can take some tunnels to the bay side. This... More

This is such a beautiful place, there were hardly any people there which was refreshing compared to some of the other beaches we've been to. It was beautiful, the only thing was the water at the restrooms/showers didn't work and we were unable to wash up before we got back in the car. Otherwise this is one of our favorite... More

This beach is very clean, the water was a perfect temperature and there was plenty of parking (a premium in San Diego). It's easily accessed either via the Coronado Bridge or if you're starting out south of there, on the way to Imperial Beach.
