Of course there are lots of olives, but there are also gifts, olive wood bowls and implements, and a restaurant. The ,restaurant is more of a bistro with sandwiches etc. we had s andwiches and a drink and it was great. This is a great break from travel on the I-5

Needless to say, if you are an olive lover this is the place to stop in. I cannot tell you how many different kinds of Olives are there, I loved trying the ones that you just won't find in a grocery store, the dry black olives, the beer flavored olives, the jalapeno cream cheese stuffed olive, etc All great. And of course you can really build a good charcuterie board with just the other stuff they sell there. But don't get me wrong it's mainly olives. The restaurant of course is great as well, get the olive mufeta sandwich and the olive oil shake.

This is the place for olives! What a great variety! We always stop in when travelling I-5.

Lots of parking for RVs and cars. Also have a dog patch.

My wife and I have frequently stopped here to purchase olives, olive oil, and other products. Samples are plentiful, so one can find just the right olives or olive oil, and the products are first-rate. We have never eaten in the restaurant.

Thank for for continuing to stop by! We appreciate you and your business. If you ever decide to try our cafe, we reccommend the Muffaletta Sandwich! It's delicious and our best selling item. We look forward to seeing you next time. Cheers, The Olive Pit Team!

My husband and I were on our way to Shasta Lake and decided to stop in Corning to charge our electric car. I read the reviews and the signs for Olive Pit so we thought we would have lunch there.
Not only was the service a zero star but the food was horrible.
I ordered a sandwich, which came with dry bread and seemed seemed bit stale. My husband ordered a veggie burger which came cold and again the bun was dry.
The olives seemed nice and that portion did seem to be decent.
I would not recommend the restaurant but the olives yes.

We are sorry you didn't enjoy our café as many customers tell us how much they enjoy stopping here. All of our menu items normally come dry because we have a 15 item fresh condiment bar. Our customers can top off their meals however they would like with different options of sauces, veggies, olives, seasonings, and more! We do make every effort to provide delicious food at our cafe. We are glad you enjoyed the olives and we hope in the future you will consider stopping in again and giving us another chance to provide a wonderful experience. If you're ever unhappy with your meal, please let us know. We would have loved the opportunity to fix this for you.

This is a great place for green olive lovers. They have varieties you won't see anywhere else (Habanero-stuffed, garlic/habanero, etc) and if you are a true lover of green olives, you'll be able to get larger sizes of jars. They offer olive tasting as well as olive oil, basalmic vinegar, mustard and wine tasting. Quite a variety of foodie options from local producers from honey to hot sauces. They have a little cafe also where you can grab lunch. This is one of our must stop places when traveling between California and Oregon.

Hi all,

Finally stopped at the Olive Pit after seeing the sign for may years. Decided to stop, get a bit to eat and taste some olives.

Really regret the bite to eat. The food is pre-made or premixed. Nothing is cooked fresh. Burgers, turkey burger, avocado mix, all tasted bad. Everything went in to special warmers to be cooked. There were no grills in site.

On the other hand, the olive store was terrific. Lots of different olives to taste. As well as several diffierent olive oils. Ended up getting Blue cheese stuffed olives, anchovy stuffed olives and tomato stuffed olives. Will stop there again for an olive craving but will definitely avoid the "restaurant".

Good travels all,

Gordon

Thanks for letting us know about your experience. Happy to hear that you enjoyed our olives and olive oil. We are disappointed you didn’t enjoy our café. Our burgers and turkey burgers are very popular items and we always strive to offer the finest quality food. Our Muffaletta and Bistro Turkey sandwiches get lots of excellent reviews too. We hope you will consider trying those on your next trip through. And our milkshakes are wildly popular as well. Thank you so much for stopping in and we hope to see you soon. Cheers, The Olive Pit Team!

On our way home from spending three days on Lake Shasta our family of five decided to stop at the Olive Pit to experience their variety of olives. Store information provided indicated they also had a deli, so we decided to have lunch also. Lunch was a big mistake. The food was worse than going to McDonalds. The Olive Store part was great but don't plan to have lunch there please.

Thank you for stopping in. We’re glad you enjoyed our store. We are sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy our café. We’ve worked hard over the years to make our café a place that our customers enjoy eating. Our Muffuletta sandwich and 1/3 pound all beef burgers always seem to be big hits along with our huge milkshake selection. Our fresh condiment bar also gives customers the opportunity to build or top off their food item however they like. We offer a variety of menu items in our café in an attempt to please everyone. If you’d like to private message us the items you ordered and the approximate time/day of your visit, we’d love the opportunity to make sure that they are being prepared properly by our staff.

If you love green olives this is the place for you. My kids only like the black olives so not so many options. Great for the chef in the family with olive oils and vinegars. Also a beer selection I have never seen before. Fun quick trip to see.

The highway billboard caught our eye and we were ready for a pit stop (pun intended) on our way south on the I5. The store has a large selection of olive oils to taste and buy. But, it's the shakes that are really worth commenting on - my almond shake was amazing. And the people who worked at this place were super friendly. Definitely a worthwhile stop!
