The staff were all so relaxed, friendly and helpful. They made us all feel very welcome and safe in their competent hands. A truly enjoyable day and would definitely recommend them and the beautiful Kings river.

Superb half day out on the river with a very knowledgeable and helpful guide. Although nervous as we had a 9 year old daughter, we never once felt that we were in any sort of danger and it was a fantastic experience.

We booked last minute with Zephyr as an ending to our trip to CA. We were on a Monday trip on the King. When we arrived, we were the only ones booked that entire day and they still took us (that gets them 5 stars alone). We had a private run (family of 5) with 3 guides and 2 boats. The river was a lot of fun and perfect for our 7 year old (youngest). My biggest compliment is that the guides were incredibly patient with our youngest who was a bit challenging early in the trip. The guides just worked right through that and we all had a great day, even the youngest. The guides were the best party - clearly have a passion for the sport and that made it the best part. Getting to the camp is a bit of a drive. It took us 75 minutes or so from Fresno - but would definitely allow for the full 2 hours as we drove aggressively on the road. The drive has some amazing views. Overall a great experience and highly recommend it. thanks Zephyr -

With the season drawing near I was itching to go rafting. After missing an opportunity in April on the Merced I wanted to go on the Kings. I’ve followed the posts on Instagram and worked out to join a Thursday trip. I booked camping as well since I read the drive in would be long it was. There was ample parking and a drop Off near the camping area so it was nice not having to carry my gear far. I checked in with the crew and they asked if I needed anything and showed me the essentials. They have a large kitchen area and games and a rinse area by the restroom. Plenty of drinking water as well as rinse water and soap near camp too. I set up for the night and waiting for morning. Morning came as did the others joining the trip. I booked the full day trip. I was paired with a family of 4. One of their kids and I both called shotgun. The front of the raft was the place to be to get splashed! The rapids were fun and I almost bounced out twice! Our guide was Kali and she was great. We had the option to enjoy the lulls and hop off the raft. She pulled us back abroad which helped in the deeper Sections. We also swam through the swimmers rapid. Lunch was a giant deli buffet with fruits, veggies and cookies. The forever eddy made for a fun swim too. It was such an amazing day I can’t wait to go back again. Mary who transported our food and picnic was able to take some photos throughout the day. I’m so glad she got some of us. This crew is great and they run a great operation.

Me and my family of 4 (two kids aged 9 & 14) did the 1/2 day (morning) trip down the Merced river in early August and it was fantastic. The river guides were very professional (we had Jett) and had good knowledge of the river and how to navigate the white water sections. They made it fun by including some games on the calmer parts of the river which got us all wet and made everyone laugh. A great time was had by all and we would definitely rebook if we were in the area again.
