Winery experience geared for those that are wanting to learn! My husband and I are moderately practiced wine "tasters", even so, Tim challenged us to think about the entire sensory experience. Tim and Kandy also make some absolutely fantastic wine. We very much appreciated all the time they spent with us, answering any questions we had about different parts of viticulture and viniculture. We had a very fun time, and highly recommended to any wine enthusiast.

Its always great to meet those who truly like to know more about wine, especially without the normal hype and hotair that a lot of the industry advances. Wine is for family, food and friends, and the more you know about it, the more you appreciate it. Thanks guys, and especially to our new Space Force Captain and his wife on their first anniversary.

From the moment we arrived Tim and Candy made us feel like old friends. I learned how to enjoy wine with my words and in my mind, rather than others that told me to enjoy their wine with their words. It was fantastic! A great experience with special people and wonderful wine. When you visit the valley, you must make a trip to BobDog. It was the best stop on our trip and we will return. Thank you Tim and Candy!

The wine makers did a great job of educating us on the art of wine making. We particularly enjoyed their Cabernet Franc and "port" style wine. View was fantastic...worth the drive!!!

Our greatest joy is introducing our guests to an educational experience about growing and making premium wine, allowing this special place to create that totally unique experience in the wine country. Our guests often are celebrating special occasions like anniversaries, birthdays, and honeymoons. And there is no better place the Sky Pine Vineyards home of Bob Dog Wines. Thank you for your kind remarks, and come back again for that next special celebration.

Tim tells a great story about wine-making. Not for snobs! Nice wines. Great setting. Personal attention.

Tim took the time to have us taste varietals BEFORE eating, and then again tasting the same varietal after eating. A real focus on each individual's palate. The MOST informative tasting we have experienced.

Thank you for your comments. We really do strive to take the intimidation out of the wine tasting experience, especially since being in the ground with the vineyards and in the cellar with the wine, we learned some humility from mother nature and the always different flavor profiles that are attractive to our guests. We like to say: Its farming with booze add in at the end. And we hope you now are an adherent to the pairing of great food with great wine. Its 2 plus 2 equals 10. Come back and see us again.

A++! Unforgettable, delightful & educational - "wine 'sensing" - what an experience! Tim's integrity, breath of knowledge, enthusiastic passion about red wine gave us a uniquely intimate experience and new appreciation for varieties of red wine...Fantastic views on the drive to the top of the mountain. Check out Tripadvisor member, 90JenN's review, Aug. 17, 2021 - shares much more! We bought 8 bottles of BobDog wines; with each we enjoy, we'll think back & toast to Tim!

It was our last day in Sonoma and we headed to our reservation to visit BobDog Winery - a small, unique, intimate winery. We arrived early and headed up the old "stagecoach" road (Mark Twain and Teddy Roosevelt once took) that leads to the hot springs. I would recommend if you have time; extremely scenic.
The drive up to the winery is breathtaking seeing the vineyards this high up overlooking the valley. Interesting to see the different directions of the plantings to maximize the natural topography of the land and water.
The entire experience was quite informational and we appreciated the stories that Tim shared with us. We left much more knowledgeable about wine in every sense!

Harvey: you make our day! Trying everyday to just educate people about the wine, the farming and the life here on Pine Mountain, 2000 feet above the Russian River.

This place came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. Tim the owner spent 3 whole hours with us alone going through the vineyard, then onto a wine tasting/education teaching us in a common sense way how to understand what we were tasting. There was nothing he did not know and was a super passionate on all topics (not just wine). Go for the wine, learn something new and return for Tim the owner who is a charismatic charming guy to remember. Wonderful. A must do if in Sonoma area.

We learned more about wines from Tim than we've learned in 15 years of visiting other Sonoma wineries. Loved the experience, the wines and the beautiful setting. Thanks Tim!

It is great when two lovely ladies from Utah venture to our little location on Pine Mountain, and take advantage of the views and tasting experience. And to the bring their own SUV in order to load up on Sonoma County wines...now that is fantastic planning and foresight. Look forward to seeing both of them again on their next journey to the "real" wine country.

Tim and Kandy blew my mind by educating me about Bourdeux (red) wines. I'm into sweet wines and thought reds were nasty, until they educated me on the HOW and WHY of wines. I found out that I am a "food with wine" taster. I need to have food when I drink my wines. Thank you again Tim and Kandy for an awesome experience!!!

Yes, it's remote, but well worth the extra time it takes to drive up the steep and winding roads to the top of the mountain to enjoy a spectacular view of the valley. Best yet, there's great wine up there, and Tim offers an outstanding plain-language lesson in the art of making (and enjoying) wine. If you HAVE to have polished marble and expensive cheese trays to enjoy your wine, this place is not for you. But, if you want a no-frills, but truly one-on-one knowledge filled experience, this is the place for you.
