About
Cache Creek Vineyards is a small, family-owned, sustainably farmed vineyard nestled in the eastern foothills of scenic Lake County. In 1997, founder, Bill "Poppo" Van Pelt, started cultivation of the land and embarked upon his dream of creating not only a beautiful vineyard in which world-class grapes would be grown, but also a safe refuge for the Tule Elk which roam freely along Cache Creek.

Not welcoming at all
Aug 2018 • Couples
Felt out of sorts with several different people waiting on us each in their own manner and no one ever making clear how the wine tasting selections would be offered. Really confusing and on unorganized, did not feel comfortable.
All other vineyards in this area are super friendly informative and helpful.

Great Hospitality & Good Wines
May 2018 • Couples
As longtime wine lovers and visitors to the Napa and Sonoma counties, we made our first winery visit in Lake County at Cache Creek, and we were extremely happy with the experience. Our host took his time with us, and gave a good exposition of the wines aimed at our knowledge level, and kept us at ease. The tasting room is well-done and perfectly suited to the winery. I would have loved to have been there at a time when we could have enjoyed some of the live music that the winery hosts...but next time!

Stopped in here on our way to Blue Lake. A beautiful property that not only has a tasting room but does events too. We did a tasting and then bought some snacks to have before we headed out on the road again.Petite Sirah and the Syrah were our favorites. After you taste get a glass to enjoy outside.

Great Afternoon late morning Stop Fantastic Wine and Delicious Panini's
Aug 2017 • Couples
This was are 2nd stop at Cache Creek Vineyards on our way home from Portland, Oregon on August 27, 2017.. Cache Creek is a wonderful throwback to the past days of wine tasting rooms. Wonderful knowledgeable staff that make you feel right at home. They made us a delicious fresh Turkey Panini to go with a wonderful glass of their Chardonnay. Restrooms are incredible as our the grounds and tasting room. Seriously this is one of the best stops you can make as you drive through Lake County. The setting is beautiful even on a very hot day. Enjoy this wonderful place and the people who make it so special.

New, classy and a must see for our visitors from the bay!
Jul 2016 • Couples
This is a cool place to see, the wine is great and the people here take time to explain the processes in its production. They do have wine cheese etc., also they have some of the local flair shopping (hand made soaps ,jelly and more). come to see this, its a perfect stop on your staycation!

Great Stop and Good Wines
Aug 2016 • Couples
This is the way wine tasting used to be. Great friendly host that knows the wines, nice tasting room, and very good to excellent wines. $5 to taste and it is applied to purchase. We purchased 4 bottles and will go back for more. Good place to stop on Hwy 20 between the lake and I5.
