The Galley restaurant is a great place to eat..good food..large portions, fair prices & awesome service. Wish I would've remembered to take photos. We had breakfast.. two had corn beef hash plates came with hashbrowns that were perfect and two had bacon and egg special.....only complaint was we all ordered over medium eggs but we all got under easy runny eggs.... didn't want to send back as we'd been travelling and were hungry....The park areas have alot of homeless unfortunately.

This park has special meaning to me. I did a hydrographic survey in 1981 before it was built, had my wedding ceremony here in 2000 and in 2019 showed my custom hotrod with my car club “South Bay Cruisers at the park. It’s a nice place to watch sunsets, ride your bike around or just chill out. It is 2 miles from my home. It’s a short distance from Interstate 5, and seems a world away from the highway. Stroll, sit or jog , it’s a peaceful place.

I have walked this park for years. I'm up before 7am, coffee is a must and off I go. For years I did 1 hour, now its a 1/2 hour, 6 days a week & off on Sunday. The park is glorious, beautiful and a sacred place. I have met life long friends. So many people walk their dog on a leach, and yes the park is 98% spotless. The walk always elevates my mood. It's a great time to ponder my day and perhaps resolve issues from the past. Its my favorite place in all of San Diego. I will miss you terribly...A convention center, huge hotel, restaurants and shops are coming.

Before this place goes by the way of big hotels and casinos, go see it. Watch the sun set or just talk a slow walk and breath the cool air.

My husband and I go there to take power walks and have always felt safe as well as comfortable going there. Sometimes when we invite grandchildren they really enjoy the play land. They usually play tag with other kids or just run around joyfully. The benches Are perfectly placed for all to enjoy. During the summer or warm days the ice cream man never fails to come by for a cold treat. Fruit pops are our fave. Watching the sunset there is always a treat. We can see the Coronado bridge, downtown and even Mexico from there. We really love going there for a quick, relaxing escape!
