Bidwell Park is rich in history going back to the early 1900's. The park consist of lower Park which starts at what's called One mile in the downtown Chico area.... More

Spent half a day here while our grandson was attending orientation at Chico State. There is a great cement pond on one side and on the other there is a beautiful playground area for the younger kids. It is a beautiful place, to walk, run or cycle too.

Love this pool built in the middle of the creek! Lots of nice trees for sitting in the shade. Concessions available. Some people don't like the "slime" on the bottom, but it's part of the natural environment. I love that lifeguards are generally provided and there is no entrance fee! Upper park is a great place to exercise as well and is also good for wildlife exploration. It's beautiful all year round but is... More

Grab a friend, a book, a bike, a dog, your running shoes, a bathing suit, a cooler full of cold beer, a yoga mat, or just your thoughts. One of the most beautiful places to get lost in, relax, or be active. Something for everyone. Everytime of the year is gorgeous in it's own way in this park.

Went for a 10 mile run in the morning and found the trails and paths to be very open and easy to follow. The scenery was gorgeous and it gets wilder the further you get from town.

Bidwell Park was the site where the mivie Robin Hood was filmed back in the 1930's. Hooker Oak is now gone, a freeway disects part of the park but One Mile provides a favorite place for the kids to swim. The park's many paths provide biking a running opportunities. A beloved part of the Chico experience, Bidwell Park comes highly... More
