Great place to relax and sample a variety of beers. Welcoming atmosphere with good patrons. The indoor and outdoor area is pet-friendly. Cool t-shirts. Close to the beach. You need to bring your own food.

Many of our local trips to Carpenteria have been to local hiking trails in and around this town.
We decided to change up and have lunch and a beer.
We entered off of Linden there is a sign that reads Fresh Beer! With out two dogs in tow we saw the water dish outside and parked the pooches outside. The Spot is accross the street.
My wife loves the Fish and Chips and I the Chicken burrito. We had a delicious Porter and
Enjoyed the the outdoor seating. Bring in your favorite eats and enjoy the great brews. Throw in the great knowledgeable staff and this is a great place!

This is one of the best boozing experiences in Southern California. A no nonsense bar manned by 3 or 4 bar persons inside the brewery, with an outdoor terrace right alongside the railroad tracks near Carpinteria RR station. Traffic at the bar on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights is so heavy it can often take 10 minutes to get served and then it takes another 5 minutes to fight your way outside to watch the trains go by. The beer is superb and the crowd is lively and local. In atmosphere it's the closest thing to an English country pub I have found in California, and there is not a horse brass or Toby Jug to be seen anywhere.

The address is on Sixth Street.... But it is on the back of the warehouses on Sixth & No Sign... I drove around for 1/2 hour before to young men told me how to go behind the warehouses to get there.

I mean I was in Santa Barbara heading south, I had a gallery to drop-off art for and I wanted to stop, as I had their Avocado Honey Ale in a S.B. bar...

But as they didn't open until Noon, I had to drive 25 miles South to Ventura and then turn around, drive the 25 miles back up, get my Ale (because you can't find this in L.A.) and then go back South...

Now the good thing: The young woman was very nice, she helped me figure out for the price which was the best large purchase for the value... Rather than a growler, I ended up w/ 7-2 pint bottles.....

I ♥ the Avocado Honey Ale.... hoping to get a local shop to carry it!

It was worth the turn-around to bring it home!

Nice little microbrewery right next to train tracks with some brews you won't find everywhere like avocado honey ale, starry night stout, and bourbon barrel ale. Outdoor seating, welcoming to dogs and little tikes. Even has a play area for the kiddos.

Went to Island Brewing Company with my husband and son on a warm afternoon. We brought burgers and fries from The Spot across the street. We sat on the patio next to a young local and his sweet dog. The men went in to get two tasting trays of beers to enjoy with our food. The beers were varied, some were very good, others not so good. All in all, we enjoyed our selections. It is a very laid back, easy atmosphere. Everyone was very friendly. The one drawback was that they are currently expanding. We had to move our table out of the way of some equipment! No help from employees!

This place was recommended to us by some locals near the beach and it was a pleasant find. The bar was always busy and has a great atmosphere, relaxing and laid back.
They serve a great selection of beers including a taster tray with a selection of different beers in small glasses which is a great idea.
Every now and again you see and hear a train thunder past on the tracks outside which all adds to the experience.
The have free wifi too which is a bonus.

All the above in other reviews. Yes food would be nice, however 100 yayds west is the spot. They close early in winter but have longer summer hours. The name says it all. The brewery allows outside food. Fish and chips, great burgers and more. They only take cash.
