We had looked this beach up on Pinterest and decided to drive the 19 minutes from Santa Barbara to see how good it really was. We are glad we did. The entrance fee was $10 and there was parking right up front so the walk to the water wasn't too bad. You do have to crest a mound of sand... More

Lovely sandy beach easily accessed from the town. For tourists there is a place to hire chairs, umbrellas etc but it was never open when we were there so you have to bring whatever you need with you. Even on busy weekends there is enough room to set up your spot. The Pacific looks great but it's mighty cold and... More

Spent the day walking around the area. Convenient non-strenuous walking trails around the beach and campground. Also did some window shopping in the cute little shops and eateries. Next time we will spend some time on the sand and in the water. It looked very inviting and the families were out having a great time. It wasn't that crowded on... More

After dinner at Clementine's, it was a nice evening to walk on the beach. Been coming up here to camp for years. This was a nice end to a very nice evening.

This is a phenomenal beach.... because I have limited motion in my knees right now, I particularity appreciated the tarp-covered walk (sort of a carpet over the sand) from the parking lot to almost the surf: made it easy to walk. The views are spectacular, the sand is so fine!

Great to get in the ocean safely, the water is very shallow and the wave are small, so it deserves it reputation for being the safest beach! However lots of tar as there is tar beach right there as well!

Born and raised in Socal thus is the best family beach for the day, week or month long stays. The water is usually cold and clean. You usually always always see dolphins and sea life. Dogs are allowed on the private side. The community is very small. The apartments and condo rent for a decent price but most are run... More

Carpenteria beach is just the best beach around. And it is always packed. They have volleyball courts and tent camping near by. There are tide pools at the very end. It's just an overall beautiful and relaxing beach.

I needed a place to stay for the night whilst driving up the coast and, being unfamiliar with any dispersed camping that may be available in the area, I snagged one of the few available tent spots for a staggering $53 ($45 + $8 fee) on ReserveAmerica. I was a bit taken aback by the price but figured it was... More
