Everywhere you look, a postcard view. This is the best walking path on planet earth (in our humble opinion). Stroll, breathe deeply, sit on one of the many beautifully-placed benches, watch the ocean and dream. A refreshment to the spirit and an unforgettable glimpse of how the 1% live. TIP: The best views are behind you, if you walk with... More

Walk along the ocean in beautiful Carmel, with the waves on one side and gorgeous and odd houses on the other.

There is ample parking at the end of Ocean Blvd. It is about a one block walk south on Scenic Drive to reach the walkway. Great Ocean views on one side and fascinating houses on the other. It is about a 3 mile round trip. There is a restroom located near the South end of the walk. Perfect morning excursion.

Really enjoyed this walk. The architecture around Carmel is really nice and unique. You almost forget you are in California.

There is a lovely crushed stone sidewalk along the water that is wheelchair friendly. On one side, there's the beach, and the other, beautiful homes. It gives you a great sense of Carmel. The hill back up to town (shops and restaurants) is VERY steep, so if that isn't a challenge you want, park by the water.

This is a beautiful road! Whether you walk, jog, bike or drive, the vistas on either side of the road are amazing. On one side is the Pacific Ocean with its mesmerizing waves, ever-hopeful surfers, and colorful sunsets. But on the east side - the land side - is an amazing variety of architecture displayed on the $millions+ homes. Everything... More

We came here in early February so I'm sure parking was much easier for us. It was so beautiful here - both the houses and the beach/water view. We were able to walk down to the water here and there (a lot of the staircases were closed). Overall, so freaking beautiful!!

You must give it a drive to understand why those who live in Carmel are so passionate about their city and want to preserve it the way it is. This is a lovely place. You just wonder how many places on the face of the earth can be as nice as this place.

Probably our top pick in Carmel. We recommend walking on the walkway one way and on the beach on return. We went at sunset. Beautiful!!

Very limited free parking. No overnight parking (unless a local with parking permit). Beautiful sand/gravel walkway along top of road overlooking Carmel Beach, Carmel Bay, Pebble Beach, surfers, family picnicks, dogs (off leash) running on beach and playing in surf. Benches along the walk for resting and gazing out to sea. One set of restrooms tucked out of sight in... More
