It is easy to miss this road, but don't. Look for the houses with the crooked roofs and the crooked chimneys...I call one The Hansel and Gretel house. Then stop many times just to look at the ocean...and hopefully you will be lucky enough to be there at high tide when the waves crash against the rocks. Get out and... More

Simply drive to the ocean and in the center of Carmel and head south on the one way road along the ocean and prepare to be in awe! Sure you can walk down to the beach but you don't have to in order to enjoy this gem. There are plenty of spaces to pull off and park. There are ample... More

We took a leisurely stroll after lunch (at the Treehouse Cafe, separate review) and quickly realized there is a reason this is called Scenic Road Walkway. Lot of gorgeous houses to goggle at and benches to sit on and contemplate the beautiful white beach. At one point, we passed people in suits and dresses making their way to a beach... More

I've been to Carmel many times and missed this until recently. Such a beautiful walk. The beach, beautiful homes, amazingly well kept restrooms. I took a lot of pics of the beautiful scenery!

Carmel is a beautiful relaxing town and taking a walk through this scenic road is something to enjoy and reflect. The beautiful houses, the almost untouched vegetation around it and the real possibility of enjoying the walk while watching dolphins play in the ocean make this stroll a must do!!

The walk is fantastic. From Carmel By the Sea beach to Carmel River Beach. Houses are all different--some built on the RIGHT side of the road (meaning jetting out over the water). The road is one way so it's easy to walk since cars are only coming one direction.

A leisurely stroll down the walkway is a must. Not only will you have some wonderful views of the pacific coast that Carmel is part of, wait until you see the houses on the coast including a Frank Lloyd Wright one. This is a must do!. Lots of art galleries to check out also.

Easy walk on the edges of Carmel Beach . Stunning views, calm and quiet. Just walk and enjoy the many and varied views of the sea and the lovely sea front houses.
