So happy we went here. Thanks tripadvisor. I have never been to a cheese ship that offered so many samples. The staff was super friendly and patient. Bought wine salami and cheese for our journey up the coast.

We never miss a visit to this Cheese Shop when we are visiting Carmel. The staff is friendly, knowledgable and patient despite the almost constant crowds. A fantastic variety of cheeses, wines and other treats!!

Small cheese and wine shop with accommodating service people who offer multiple samples to find the right flavor profile you're looking for. Great selection in a small town. Delicious!

Amazing Cheese store adventure. The staff is engaging and allows you to experience the world of cheese. You sample cheese from around the world and can receive an education about what you are tasting. I highly recommend getting a variety of cheese with a baguet for your picnic in Carmel or in the Monterey peninsula. Experience the magic of cheese!!!!... More

This was a definite stop for us and we were so happy to see that they are still in the Carmel Plaza. The staff is soooo friendly and always offering samples of incredible cheeses. The Cheese Shop is a definite shop to go to on the lower level of the Plaza. You'll be glad you did

Wonderful broad & deep selection of cheeses and accompaniments, with outstanding and informed service. They offer samples, ship purchases, etc. This is a must for foodies, cheese lovers, etc.

My friend and I visited this shop and enjoyed the selection and samples. Unfortunately, one of the staff was a bit grouchy to us. And I was really looking forward to visiting this place. We had came in about 20 min before it closed and left right before closing (there were still visitors in the shop when we left) and... More

Been here twice - both times had ample tastings to make a decision. This time we selected four items: Double Cream Gouda, Mimolette, Framani and a local monterey jack from the Schoch family (Salinas valley). The Chimay cheese is really funky. Too funky for our taste. We could also buy salami and have it cut to the size we wish.... More
