Hi Gary,
Of course we hope you'll enjoy one of our tours while you're here. In addition to the two great answers above, we would suggest the following:
Lodging - There is a wide variety of places to stay in Carmel, so we'll recommend a range for your review:
Cobblestone Inn: B&B walking distance to everything, have heard wonderful things about their breakfasts.
Hofsas House: A couple blocks off the main street but still walking distance to everything, this may be a little quieter than other choices. They offer a heated pool (rare in this area). Rooms are clean and bright.
Cypress Inn: Their lounge is one of the stops on our food tour. Located in the heart of Carmel, their Mediterranean style features small-ish, stylish rooms that are all pet-friendly.
Pine Inn: On Ocean Avenue, it's Carmel's oldest hotel. Their front lobby is full of Louis XV furniture and their staff is welcoming and attentive.
Tally Ho Inn: Sister hotel to the Pine Inn (and right across the street), this hotel has only a handful of rooms. The spaces are larger than we've seen anywhere in Carmel.
La Playa Hotel: Most recently renovated in Carmel, a couple blocks from downtown, with beautiful views and elegant appointments.
We are the only food tour in town, and are getting ready to launch our breakfast tour in April (so you'll have two selections). Other tours include a historical walking tour (both in Carmel and Monterey), segway and ghost tours in Monterey, and Carmel's own Wine Walk Passport (available at the Carmel Chamber - $69 gets you 9 vouchers to 14 walkable tasting rooms in Carmel; may be shared, and they don't expire until used).
Please feel free to reach out if you have additional questions.
