The Mad Dogs Team really are a great group of guys who outfitted us with e-bikes which we used to do a self-guided tour of the 17 Mile Drive. We had a blast! We were very well outfitted, the bikes worked perfectly (and were easy to master), and one of the guys even loaned me his backpack to use. I would gladly do this again on our next visit to Carmel!

We rented bikes for half a day (4hours) from these guys including helmets and a bike lock. The bikes were in amazing shape and great quality. We couldn’t have been happier with what we ended up with and the opportunity to go and explore. We hadn’t pre-booked and arrived when the shop opened. They had quite a few walk ins like us and seemed happy to accommodate whoever they could. We ended up cycling over to Monterey and then back on the Pebble Beach 17mile trail. Really great experience.

We rented 2 electric bikes for 2 adults and 2 kids. They had great options for the kids to make sure everyone would be confortable. Bikes were great!
The 17 mile drive ride is amazing.
A little expensive but definitely worth your money! Would rent our bikes there

In addition to having a great British colloquialism and sharing a namesake with a legendary album, this is a 5 star bike shop with cool bikes for you and your pup to tour Carmel by the Sea or just have a great environmentally friendly way to get around the village. Prices are reasonable the experience is memorable and you’ll probably want to buy an pedal assist bike with a sidecar when you get done with your day adventure. They have a solid lineup to choose from including the Vintage line. Just do it (With a Little Help From Your Friends) at Mad Dog and Englishman Bike Shop

Excellent ebike tour followed by a food and wine walking tour. Martin made everyone feel great on this tour and provided a ton of information. It truly is for folks of all bilking abilities a the bike does most of the work. We saw so much more by not being in a car and the hikes were very gentle. Great great day. This was followed by the Carmel food and wine tour which was so special. I highly recommend both and doing the bike first made the next one even more enjoyable.

Very nice shop with a lot of top end gear. The owners are VERY concerned with the service that is offered to clients. We had a minor issue (things happen) but the management were quick to act, to listen and address the issue. Will definitely recommend this shop to friends should they be travelling to the area.

Cannot recommend these guys enough. We hired two assisted bikes and cycled around the 17 mile drive. The scenery is stunning and the cycle pretty easy (and I don't particularly like cycling!), but for the tricky bits the assisted bike really came into its own and made the cycle am absolute breeze.
The young lady in the shop was super friendly and helpful, explaining how to use the bikes, the dos & don'ts, rules of the road etc to ensure we knew what to do and how to behave on the road in the US.
We had the bikes for 3 hours, came back a little late but it wasn't a problem.
Had a fantastic cycle, thoroughly recommend and would definitely use Mad Dogs again

We had a reservation scheduled and a week before the trip our 4 month old puppy broke her leg. Maddogs and Englishmen was gracious enough to let us move our reservation without penalty. They were also concerned about our puppy's well-being.
They have been the easiest company to work with as we reschedule an entire trip (most other companies are charging change fees or not allowing cancelations).
We have received excellent customer service and we haven't even taken our ride yet!

Oh my goodness, this was one of the best tours I've ever had on an e-mountain bike! I felt like it was my lucky day, forreals. The scenery on Mount Tam was of course gorgeous, but the best part was riding with Martin and Jennifer, the owners and (lucky me) my guide for the trip. They were wonderful - and the bike was absolutely incredible to ride. I'm so looking forward to taking this tour again! Thank you, Martin and Jennifer!

The four of us rented ebikes for a 17 Mile self-guided bike ride. What a wonderful experience. The folks at the shop were very accommodating because we showed up 2 hours early. It was a beautiful fall day and the scenery throughout the trip was ideal. We stopped at Pebble and had a cocktail on the terrace and finished the trip with a quick ride around Scenic Drive. Highlight of our trip to Carmel!

Do you offer guided tours with the ebikes? My husband and I do better with a guide as he has a tendency to take off on roads less traveled and getting us into trouble (and disagreeements). We are experienced with ebikes having completed 3 VBT Europe experiences with them.
