Awesome. Wide, long, peaceful and a destination in itself. The walk to it is downhill, and parking's tight (but everyone walks it but elderly).

You have to see this beach. Wonderfully situated in a bay type of shape, beatiful blue sea and Pebble Beach golf course up on the right hand side.

Amazingly beautiful city and the beach. We've been watching whales peacefully "having breakfast" very close to the shore.

This is the main city beach in Carmel. It is a fantastic beach that is completely off leash for dogs!! The beach is beautiful with a decent amount of parking. All the dogs and owners we encountered were friendly and well behaved. We had a great morning at this beach and can't wait to come back! If you don't have... More

Loved the white, fine sand between my toes. We sat and watched the sandpipers and pelicans. Visited friendly beach-goers, and walked along the length of beach where the sands "barked" under our feet! The beauty of the crashing waves and fragrance of fresh salty air was amazing.

It is hard to believe Carmel Beach has retained its charm all these years! My husband and I have been visiting Carmel-by-the-sea for over 20 years and, each time we go back, we expect it to be not as awesome as we remember. But, each time, it is still amazing! Dogs run around playing, humans have huge picnics and bonfires... More

The beach was easy to access and was beautiful. Very white sand. had to climb down a hill to get to the beach so didn't really enjoy the climb back up to get to the parking lot. Wish I could have stayed longer.

Didn't swim, just walked the beach. A lot of natural beauty. Tip: when facing the water, walk to your left for the best view. (This is probably south.). On the way back, climb the steps and walk along the sidewalk/street to look at the homes. A definate must in Carmel!

It wasn't too packed when we were there but this beach is for viewing.Too cold to get in the water or sunbathe. Kind of fun to watch the dogs that run freely. Gorgeous views.Nice area for picnic or fire at night.
