I think this is the best beachy-beach (vs coastal beach) on the Monterey Peninsula. It's huge and isn't crowded like the other small beaches. The Carmel Beach features several stairway entrances to a long and wide stretch of clean, fine sand. Surfers prefer this beach due to the large crashing waves, and absence of rocks (generally), although the currents and... More

I have been to Carmel and Carmel Beach on several occasions. It is more breathtaking with each visit. 17 Mile Drive is absolutely spellbinding. The beach is a lovely strolling area and be sure and have a sweater...whenever you go. My feeling is, always, it is a glimpse of Heaven.

Love this event every year. 150 mini doxies and their owners take to this lovely beach for a day of fun. Meeting old friends and making new ones, all with one thing in common....our love of doxies. A big thank you to Marshall, J.T. and the Carmel Club members for making this event so enjoyable. We already have our reservations... More

Carmel City Beach is a great place to relax. Not overly crowded, unlike the beaches of Santa Cruz and Capitola. You'll find people playing with their dog. Dress warm!

A very pretty place to visit and stay, great views overlooking Pebble Beach golf course. How i long to own one of those houses overlooking the beach.

Water too cold and wild to enter except for dipping toes. Long and Sandy and sunny, lots of room to play or for a beautiful beach walk. Close and convenient to all the shops. Parking seems limited but we did ok in that regard.

Carmel City Beach is a great place to relax and unwind for a few hours. Even though I've been to this beach dozens of times, not once have I seen it overly crowded. Unlike the beaches of Santa Cruz and Capitola, you won't see masses of people laid out on towels trying to soak up the sun. Rather, you'll see... More

Beautiful beach! Clean and soft sand! We saw dolphin and seals too! Kids enjoyed climbing trees and running/rolling in sand. I highly recommend visiting this beach!

This was our 1st chance to really see a beach as we traveled south. It was a little colder and windy than we liked but this is a really nice spacious beach. Plenty of people here so the temp didn't stop anyone. Walking distance from our hotel. Very conveniently located even if it is a steep walk back
