On January 11 we had an excellent tour of Robinson Jeffers’ Tor House with knowledgeable docents. To think that one of the greatest poets of the 20th century lived here with no electricity in a house he built with his own hands is amazing. The...More

This amazing little fortress perched on the coast is amazing in and of itself, but the real magic is revealed by your docent - the history of the property and the poetic talent of its founder (and builder). Our docent was terrific (Vince).

The history or Robinson Jeffers and his Tor House and Hawk Tower are fascinating, and our docent, Mr. Johnson, was a superb guide to the broad context of Jeffers's life and the home, as well as a fun source of little-known details. A must see...More

The stories of Tor House and Robinson Jeffers, as told by our docent Stewart, are fascinating. The poet lived the quiet, thoughtful life he wanted and built the solid stone Hawk Tower which we climbed for an excellent view of the Pacific.

This home is definitely one man's folly. If you are interested in architecture, history, or Robinson Jeffers ( the poet) this tour is for you. Whereas San Simeon is one man's dream on a grandiose scale- this is a small scale version of another family's...More

Hi, no this is not a good place to bring a dog. They would not allow you to bring the dog inside or even on the grounds.
