Ben was the best; if you're a foodie, book a tour with him. Stops were evenly spaced, and he handled my gluten intolerance and black pepper allergy with the restaurants so that I had a great time! Highly recommend going on this tour as soon as you arrive!

This is a great twist on the bland historical walking tour through a downtown--the food stops were great, and the history was fascinating. Kudos to our guide David for being so knowledgable and entertaining. Plus, the food was fantastic. Especially the strawberry shortcake.

Our group of 6 ladies were treated to a fabulous journey through Carlsbad eateries. The relaxed and informed Cherie was a wonderful guide. The food was so good we immediately made dinner reservations for the following evening at one of the Italian restaurants.
It was the first day of our 4 day Carlsbad adventure and very appropriate to learn the "lay of the land" in regards to the Village and its food. We recommend this tour highly. You wont be disappointed!

OVER-THE-TOP Incredible!!! We try to do a Foodie Tour in every city we visit, when we first get there, so we know where to eat during our stay. This tour, by far, had TOO MANY awesome choices!!! There wasn't a place we wouldn't go to...if we had more time!

Make sure you COME HUNGRY because even though the portions are small, there are a LOT of them, and you will leave FULL! We were greatful that there was a short walk between restaurants to give our stomachs a rest!

Our first stop was to Caldo Pomadoro for some delicious cheesy Garlic Bread with marinara and cheesy Artichokes! Note the "cheesy..." they were BOTH incredible!!!

The next stop was Humble Olive Oils for tastings of gourmet olive oils and vinegars. This has to be the BEST place for getting a great product. They also carry pastas and sauces. We didn't leave there without buying their Peach and Apricot Balsamic Oils, the White Truffle Oil, & the Avocado Blossom Honey! So Yum!!!

The next stop was to Vigilucci's Gourmet Market. An authentic Italian Market in the heart of Carlsbad! We enjoyed a selection of cheeses, meats, olives & Italian cookies. You can buy complete meals-to-go OR the ingredients to make it at home!

We were then on to Witch Creek Winery for some sampling of some award winning California wines.

Next, we had a little history lesson about Carlsbad's name and how the city was known for having the Best WATER!

Sub Zero Ice Cream was an amazing stop!!! They blast the ice cream with -321 degrees of liquid nitrogen to freeze it instantly and to-order. We're coming back here!!!

Gregorio's was our next stop where we had some delicious Eggplant Sliders! Loved them!

Next Stop was Señor Grubby's for some incredible pork tacos! They have a great menu that has good choices for ever eater!

Our last stop was to the Carlsbad Chocolate Bar to sample some Sea Salt Dark Chocolates! Mmmm... A perfect way to finish our foodie adventure!

Cheri, our host, did an incredible job of selecting restaurants and sharing her passion for both food and the city of Carlsbad. The tour would not be the same without her!

Really enjoyed our tour. Excellent food and excellent company. Cherie was very friendly and helpful. Particularly enjoyed the Humble Oils, their balsamic selection was extensive and delicious. All other venues were good, our least favourite was Senor Grubbys, but even that wasn't dreadful. The history of Carlsbad was interesting too. Can't wait to come back and try the Indulgent tour next year.

It was a pleasant experience, but I’ve been on better tours. Most importantly, tour guides have to be careful to balance keeping the conversation going with sharing too much personal information. In this case, personal information was shared that crossed the line and made me feel uncomfortable. The “tastes” were all great and represented the diversity of the area. I’m unsure why we had delicious gelato (one of the best stops with 3 tastes), but then went to tacos and then chocolate. Maybe have gelato after tacos? Also, sorry we didn’t get to hear from any of the owners or managers to learn about the restaurant/store’s history as I’ve had on other tours.

I was in town for a wedding and thought this would be a great way to spend Saturday afternoon. We had a small, fun group led by Cheri and V. The food stops were delicious and the walks through the charming town and getting to meet various artists and locals really gave me a feel for the area. Loved the garlic bread and marinara at Caldo Pomodoro, oil and vinegar tastings, eggplant slider, delicious donuts at The Goods, el pastor taco at Senior Grubby’s, gelato tasting and the watermelon mimosa and grilled meats at Park 101. Highly recommend!

Having enjoyed previous walking food tours, we decided to see what Carlsbad had to offer. Cherie was delightful, and very knowledgeable of the area. We learnt some very interesting history on the area. It is a VERY easy walk and you certainly don't need to have any great fitness levels to participate.

The food tour stops were great! Italian x 2, olive oil store, doughnuts (on National Doughnut Day), icecream, winery, and Mexican. We had 7 food stops in total. All were very good and in fact we all loved the marinara sauce at one Italian restaurant, we returned there for dinner that night.

Do yourself a favour and book in a tour. Cherie is great at what she does ... thankyou for having us Cherie (we hope you're now using your Aussie slang words fluently!!).
