The Carlsbad Inn Beach resort is right next to the Carlsbad Village and since we stayed for a week, we had the pleasure of enjoying the shops and restaurants in the area. The stores range from clothing to jewelries, especial olive oils, gelatos, and the restaurants from Mexican, Italian, Greek, Japanese.

cute village but expected more unique shop. Many tourist shops around town, with a plethora of hair salons.

Carlsbad has managed to retain a lot of its village charm despite growing a LOT in the last 31 years I have lived here. It has become a tourist destination (Legoland is 10 minutes away, and the beach is only a few blocks from downtown). There are many restaurants from family and folksy to high end French, Italian, Seafood, Asian,... More

Amazing neighborhood, great place close to beach and quite, with access to everything around, little far from downtown but everything is perfect

Its just another little 'village' with crowds and not a great deal to do. Far better to drive to Oceanside to the north. Restaurants are OK, but there are some great restaurants in Carlsbad and surrounding areas, just not in the 'village' For great sea food.. try Fish 101 and Pelly's ... but they are not at the 'village'.

Carslbad Village is very walk able. The main road from Freeway to the Beach used to be called Elm but the city council renamed it many years ago to feed people into a new development by the train tracks. There are a few antique shops, bars, wine bars and restaurants of all types and prices on Village Drive and side... More
